Shifter feels clunky when going into 5th

I have a 2015 BRZ series blue, it currently has about 2300 miles on it. Since yesterday i noticed that when driving and shifting from 4th to 5th the shifter feels clunky (like a heavy feeling). It does not happens in any other gear.

Im not really sure if this is a problem or its just the way it is. From what i remember, before (meaning since i had the car with 18 miles until now) i have not notice that heavy shifting from 4th to 5th. I felt pretty smooth on the past.

Anybody can help me to see whats going on or how to fix?

Usually the tough gear is second. Should be pretty smooth going from 4th to 5th. no grinding noise when doing this?

Good. They likely will say it's normal or they can't replicate it, which could be true. I'd just keep an eye/ear on it, i think most owners would say their transmission has just gotten smoother and smoother over time.

This. Transmissions wear in over time. Unless you're feeling significant resistance or grinding when going into gear or its popping out of gear, I wouldn't worry about it.

What is the RPM doing when you do this? Are you rev matching, or has the engine slowed down while you were in neutral?

It's really tight from the factory, once you get some more miles on her she'll loosen up.

mmm mine is not making any noise at all.. Its just feels heavier than usual when shifting from 4th to 5th while driving.

When im idle (stopped) and move the shifter to 5th gear, it feels a lot lighter.

Seems like it only happens when im driving.

Im not really sure if thats normal.

thats how it started for me too tbh .. I'm thinking its just the need to change out the transmission oil ...
this car is super finicky about the oil ... my mpg went from 21 avg back to 30 this week bc i did a quick engine oil change lol

but who knows ... i haven't changed my tranmission oil yet - need to take off all those panels ima need some time :/

Ive had this problem since I've had the car but mine grinds. It stopped during the winter but has definitely picked back up since its gotten warmer and keeps getting worse. I will probably end up going to the dealer

How hard was it to prove it needed to be replaced? Mine happens every so often so it would be difficult to prove.
