Just had to put my rear 16" Volk on, since I punctured my stock tires. Reverse stagger makes it go sideways everywhere. Ride quality is way better, handling way livelier (but at a slower tempo so it's also way easier), and the engine feels way stronger through these 34.5 pound wheel/tire. It's a hair slower but it's so much easier to drive now that I'm moving roughly as fast as before. The lighntess and the sidewall with 205/55R16 really takes the edge off of bumps, though at the cost of inducing a tiny degree of wallow. It also exaggerates any weight transfer and reduces the sharpness of response, which suits me perfectly. Going sideways at all times, my front Prius tires still faded before my rear Hankook Ventus V12 Evo2. The stock brakes didn't fade at all. I cannot and will not go back to 17s. Good, good, good wheels ![]() Imagine how nice it'll be with all four.

I have to say, the 16's are WAY better at backroad driving. So much more forgiving over bumpy roads and still keeps the traction going

WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELS!
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() 17 Pounds apiece. Heavy. As. Hell. Also, Ventus V12 Evo are good. Ventus V12 Evo 2 are ridiculously soft sidewall. I'm gonna have to inflate them very high, as it stands the car wiggles its hips while changing lane.

Couple photos from my first Auto-x of the season...
![]() ![]() Put out some really good times, I'm very happy with this setup! ![]() The reduction in weight combined with my full exhaust/tune has really brought the car to life power wise. And these Dunlops are super sticky even with only being 225's, I never felt like I lacked traction. My only issue is I need more front camber... |

What tires is everyone running for 205/55R16? I just took mine to the mountain with Hankook Ventus V12 Evo, and it felt... broken. Truly awful, I had to pull over to let the nausea subside.
In short, my findings: four 16s bad, reverse stagger good. Which is a shame because they look amazing to me.

v12 has way to soft of a sidewall to be running that tall of a tire. i was dissapointed with mine until i ran 36-38psi and more camber. i run 205/55r16 rs-3s now, and they are amazing.
