With the stage 1 tune, the FA20 makes an induction/valve tick noise at around 4K RPM. What is it exactly? I understand its "normal" but what is making the noise? Could it be something with the cams or sprockets? And lastly, the dumb question, is it a healthy noise? Will there be any kind of damage in the long run from running with this noise?

Thanks!
Still never got an answer to this. Anyone?

yes that noise happens with a lot of NA tunes especially for EL header, heaps of threads on it.

appears to be due to intake or exhaust resonance due agressive vvt setting to reduce torque dip.
not heard of motors exploding as a result and heaps of people running tune that do it from perrin fa20club oft ect. see @ztans post in vvt noise thread for possible reduction in noise

Does anyone know what the current oft off the shelf map version currently is. I googled it a few times came up with different results in the download section of the website, some were older version like 1.42 and I think the current one is 1.59. The one I currently have, if I can remember correctly is 1.6 beta.

make sure you use the definitions that come in that download pack for editing and not the v1 defs.

Ok, so everything just flew over my head. I am using OFM and the files you sent me are in XML, to convert to bin do I need to use romraider or how do I upload this to ofm. I am going to read this whole thread in the morning to learn how to edit maps, as this this sounds interesting!

This is the correct download page: FRS Downloads

There are 3 or 4 different pages you can find through google.
But that's the only one being updated.
The guys at openflash should really clean up those old pages, it's confusing for the new users.

i did some WOT after mixing my E85 but the logs seem to be cut short or something, not seeing the WOT numbers. Would using the older template file (before the 3/27 update) be a cause? I'm going to update the template now and test again in a bit but just curious.

EDIT: I see there's also a new version of OFManager as well, I thought this was supposed to be automatically updated when plugged in?

EDIT 2: Everything's working again after updating template and OFM

It's still showing current OTS is 1.59. Should it be 2.06?

Go here : http://www.openflashtablet.com/Autom...ads/index.html

You'll need the first three files for the manager and then scroll all the way down and you'll see the 2.063 ots pack.

I would suggest that you download one file at a time and make sure that it downloaded correctly. Sometimes the files only partially download to your pc.
