BBC will attempt to recover what they can of TG, but I would be surprised if Hammond and May returned after all this, if only out of solidarity with Clarkson.

Top Gear, if it does continue after this, will be an entirely different show. One that, until I see whatever the BBC presents, I may not watch anymore.

Maybe some of the budget can be funneled to the other TG (USA, Germany, Australia) and possibly get some more quality programming out of those outlets.

And in all of this, why has nobody laid the blame squarely at the feet of those who deserve it most--the Goddamn hotel who couldn't keep their kitchen open late?

too bad.

I wonder if we'll ever get to see the "lost" episodes from the end of this season.

as much as i love Clarkson, getting drunk and punching a member of staff should not be tolerated.

As much as that is true, BBC employed a sex offender for years. They knew about it and kept it quiet.

So this double standard irks me the wrong way.

RIP
Too bad for the fans.
Too bad for the BBC, it was their #1/2 show.
I wish some other production company has the balls to pick them up. That petition had over 1 million backers.

Am very disappointed to hear the news of Clarkson officially being let go. While I agree that workplace violence should not be tolerated, every situation is different. According to the BBC the producer did not report it, Jeremy reported himself, in a situation like that I believe they should have been sat down as two men, discussed the situation being over and moved on with a formal discipline.
I will not watch what remains of Top Gear, and I hope May and Hammond dont return to the show just out of respect for one of the greatest TV hosts to ever be.

Best quote out of this--Reporter: "Who would you be prepared to work with? Who would you like to work with?" May: "As much as I think he's a a knob, I quite like working with Jeremy."

Just shows Cpt. Slow is a class act, no reason to get mixed into the fray. I would have hoped I would have had the presence of mind to say something similar.

I also liked the remark about needing to work on the ad to sell his Ferrari.

I would very much like to see Hammond and May resign/leave and stand by Jeremy's side. As much of the show is scripted you can always tell an equal amount is the awesome love/hate relationship they have, Top Gear would never be the same without the three of them together.
