What will be the end game now for the FR-S in CS? What is the earliest they could re-class the car or is it more complicated than that? Really thinking about STX->CS

I'm curious to see how an FRS does with those springs and swaybars now.

Hard to say. My money would be a combination of either:
1) Classify as "best of breed" of the twins for Street. Bring the RS 1.0 back into CS. 2) Move the BRZ down to D or E Street 3) Bump the FR-S entirely up to B-Street (unlikely but possible) Either way, it is what it is. I'm interested to see how this plays out. |

Unless we are somehow not faster than the RX-8 or the MX-5, we're off to BS. Hell, I would expect some ringers to build out an FRS a month before nats to try and vulture the class.
Let's be real here: yes, as competitors we need to max out the rules, but this sort of disruption isn't good for the sport. Everyone with a BRZ is gonna get a shaft here. The sane thing to do, if you're the SEB and you're seeking stability in the category after one of the most disruptive rules transitions ever, is to limit this disruption to one year. That lets the BRZ/MX-5/RX-8 crowd stay in the game for next year. Otherwise CS becomes spec FRS. |

Just bought my '13 FR-S about a month ago, and have jumped headfirst into figuring out how I want to set up my car for CS. This spring and sway business is definitely good news, but throws a minor curveball into my decision with regard to dampers. I was leaning toward bilstein B6's given their build quality, their serviceability, and my lack of experience with suspension tuning on cars (I understand it on my mountain bike, but that's a whole different ball game). Given that these shorter, stiffer springs are now legal, are bilstein b8's also legal? I only found one mention in this thread that stated their shorter length excluded them, but would the overall length of stock dampers with TRD springs put the B8's within the limits of SCCA's stated 1" limit with regard to stock length?

Went to the Scion webpage and 'built' my FRS. On the swaybar package, it says the rear bar is...
15.8mm 4130 solid rear sway bar with polyurethane bushings Yet the TRD document attached earlier says its 17.5mm. Which one is correct and/or legal? |

Also FYI, it seems the bars are hollow. So expect lower stiffness vs a solid bar. Still no idea on the spring rates or sway bar wall thickness. Also, keep in mind the springs are meant to be paired with the stock dampers and still keep them within OEM estimated life expectancy. No idea on how much firmer than stock they calculate out to be. |

I searched around a bit and THINK I answered my own question. B8's are less than 1" shorter in extended length than the B6, which I believe are OEM length. I'm hoping to get some confirmation from the earlybirds on here before I order tomorrow. I'm way too lazy to pop the OE dampers off and measure them.
