Rob has told me there are 5 more kits ready for release. Those that are next on the list should get a email sometime in the next week as well. @killy the battery specs for the current kit are all on Rob's website phantomsuperchargers.com. I would advise waiting until you place in line has been confirmed as ready for shipment before purchasing the batteries. Current wait time for the kit is about 7 to 8 months but there was a BUNCH of people that emailed at the same time so those orders will be filled as stock becomes available.

Happy to report that my FRS is back on the road! Oh that sweet feeling of torque and power rushing through 2nd and 3rd gear....cars disappearing in your rearview mirror, i missed it so much!

My car is still on the 1.5dump setup with the tq250(small starter bat) and all i had to do to maintain it over the winter months was start it up once a month for 10 minutes. My car does sit in the garage so it is protected from the elements.

In the next month or so i will be upgrading to the latest and greatest and will provide updates for you all as usual

Cheers,
Absolutely cannot wait to get my hands on this kit! Thanks for all the hard work you guys have done to put into this kit. @Robftss

Now, I just wonder how far along the list I am lol.

What does the acceleration with the esc "feel" like? I assume if feels v6 like, is this a good assumption? I've driven an accord v6, 370z, etc. are they comparable?

V6 with more torque down low

I'd say it feels like a 2.8L or 3.0L engine

So I've read through a decent amount of this absurdly long thread, but can't seem to find exactly what I'm looking for... I'm hoping someone can chime in or point me in the right direction. My generation is lazy, what do you expect?

Have we seen numbers for the max gains we can expect from adding the ESC to an otherwise maxed out NA 86? I'm talking headers, tune, E85, intake, etc...

The closest I've seen is in the first page with this user's mods:

"2013 FRS 6MT with DUAL dump pack
Mods:
TQ250 with dual dump
OpenFlash Tablet
OpenFlash Header
Single tip cat-back
Modified air duct
93oct (although the it's mapped conservatively enough to make the same power on 91oct)"

The dyno showed 217HP/195TQ on that one, but I'm wondering what that would look like with E85.

I've also seen the dyno below it with this info:

"Open Flash Tablet E85 and 91 Octane:

Green and Blue line - Open flash tablet tuned ESC TQ250-24v, E85, Front pipe and catback"

He showed impressive gains, as well, at 223HP/201TQ, but it doesn't look like that guy had headers.

Basically, I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with a setup that is a combination of the two aforementioned cars... the "best of both worlds" type situation.

I'm picky... I know.

Either way, I love how much torque this system adds down low... which I feel, personally, is just what this car is lacking from the factory.

Take whatever your known 'maxed' out NA build is putting out and take a ratio of the anticipated boost versus standard atmospheric pressure and apply the percentage as an additive difference to that NA build. This is just a rough basic theoretical value. Of course, if your max output is at 8.5k-9k and the motor on the ESC is peaking lower than that at 6k-7k, things will be vary noticeably and your ceiling will be lower.

So say you make 200bhp @ 6k. If you apply 7.5psi to 14.7psi at 1 atm, this is roughly 50% of the original value. So in a perfect world without parasitic drag, frictional losses, or compensated timing and tunes due to fuel limitations, you should see a max around 300bhp (200X.50=100+200). So 300 would be about your max cieling roughly speaking. No more, and likely less.

Hope that helps give you a general idea.

With all bolt on's and good E85(summer) you are looking at the low to mid 230's for peak hp and 205-210tq.

The new batteries that are paired with the rev 2 kit are very powerful.

The most i have made to date using the test tq300 system was 225hp on Canadian 94octane...this was with a bung coilpack as well. I had a UEL header and trackpipe, stock intake. stock rest of exhaust

The system i was using was just pushing too much current for the controller to handle reliably in all scenarios. TQ300 isn't available or even close to production yet...still just a experiment.

*insert excuse for not wanting to read 500 pages*

I really like this system, and it seems the most practical (living in CA) due to carb laws. Its something I'd like to have in a couple years, are these units going to eventually go into a larger production run?

It seems like the lead times are 6-8months :S

sorry if this is a repost, thought it was interesting. Looks like a universal non refined version of the Phantom. Neat to see others out their developing these systems.

Wow
Interesting. Very interesting. The TP2500-24 claims to produce 5.6 PSI!

I hope someone is brave enough to be the first to test and report on this thing. It could give Rob some real competition. If indeed it does work and keeps on working.

Problem is what's the size of the engine to get that level. Also some us here have gotten that at lower rpms pretty easily.

I didn't think anyone has logged more than 5.1 or 5.2 psi at the lowest rpm. (using OFT). But yes, also curious about the size of engine. Thinking about it, the Phantom would be F-in awesome for the Motorcycle market, dangerous, but awesome. As long as you have space for batteries, you could easily slap one on a small motor vehicle: motorcycle, dune buggy/go-cart, lawnmower, not sure about the alternator output on said vehicles, or fuel delivery, but I think it would be worth a try.

It doesn't look like this was designed to work as a standalone ESC but instead in conjuction with conventional F.I. Perhaps the reason that it doesn't use a discreet battery pack and also doesn't include any information about a tune. Worse though, doing 5 minutes of research about this company (check the fundamentals section) brought up red flags all over the place.

The company above looks to be adept at attracting investors but produces little of long term value. To go along with sales, there are R&D and Operations needed. Weakness in any of the three shows up quickly. It looks like bringing an ESC to market and supporting it has proven to be a greater challenge than anyone but Rob (with the help of fenton, Shiv, and others) have been able to pull off in the aftermarket ESC for non commercial vehicles space.
