I'm not going to say the driver didn't do anything wrong and he could not have handled that situation better

BUT

those protesters have no right blocking traffic and I would have tried to get them out of my way to.

You can picket and protest without disrupting the general public. Blocking the road does does not get your point across to the intended audience.

Ok, please enlighten us to how YOU would handle the situation.
As you can see the guy is blocked by all the cars behind him, so he cant even turn around to go another way.

Hard to believe that with that many cars backed up that the police are not there yet.

We have to keep in mind that we have no clue what happened before nor after the video. Who knows maybe they were poking him with sharp sticks before the video and they all had a group hug and went for coffee afterwards. It is easy to fabricate a whole back story based on the context of what we see here but unless you were actually there anything else beyond what is here is pure fabrication.

They let cars in every five minutes and police are on most lines protecting everyone. This guy was just impatient.

Given that it's illegal for them to block the road that'll be a hard sell.... as long as you aren't violent about it you are doing nothing wrong by moving the barrier yourself.

It's not illegal for them to block the road as it is protected in our Charter of Rights and Freedoms as the right to assemble and the right to express ourselves. Not to mention street blocking has been done for ages in Canada and is a popular method of protesting.

Here that would have to be planned, approved, and the AUTHORITIES would be the ones blocking the road for the protest and public notice is given. Doing so otherwise without a permit IS illegal. I've seen MANY protests that have blocked the roads (legally with permits) and the police have always setup the barricades.

Sure it does happen without those things, but that would again be illegal and good luck going after the guy for removing the barricade. The guy is certainly angry - too angry even - but it's not completely without reason. And for the bitch that hit his car when he drove through.. I hate people who disrespect others property. Bitch needs to be slapped... ok not really.

Maybe in Canada you can randomly block a road to protest.

Pretty good way to get run over by a drunk driver, and really besides Hockey and drinking what else is there to do in Canada?

The Audio was poor, but I never heard anyone tell him that they would only make him wait 5 minutes.
Most of the exchange is the black guy getting right up in his face saying "What you gonna Do?".
To me them's fightin words, and I would not just calmly get back in my car and wait.
I would tell him "I will remove your barrier and if you attempt to illegally block my car again, I will consider it false imprisonment and will act accordingly by running your ass over"

We do. We can notify police if we want but in the end it's our right to protest. For the most part the police were there protecting the picketers on the lines.

Well what are the students who are stuck in the line of cars supposed to do? Pay off the strikers themselves just so they can get moving? Blocking off the road for a protest without providing a detour is pretty childish and extremely inconsiderate. I'd get pretty irked after a while too... guess there really is nothing else to say besides "GET THE FUCK OUT OF THE WAY!!!"
