My cars winning STX tour pressures were 30/27. They really liked the rears low. Car came alive when we went down a little there. 1st and 3rd quickest runs in STX on Sunday were at 30/27.
Randell really laid one down at the end for sure. Last edited by RedBRZ80; 03-16-2015 at 11:36 PM. Reason: Clarity |

The CS entry on Bridgestones fell to 2nd after leading on Saturday - his Sunday time was 0.6s off the pace of the winner. Just curious, any major difference in conditions on Sunday between different heats? |

Tirerack now has a $70 rebate on Bridgestone's including the RE71R. Heh too bad I already have a brand new set of RS3v2s. I did some anecdotal comments about the RE71-R not being marked at all regarding treadwear rating.

Percentage of podium spots taken: Dunlop: 32.6% Hankook: 34.9% Bridgestone: 21.9% BFG: 4.7% Toyo: 7.0% Total first places (because that's what really matters): 15 Percentage of first places: Dunlop: 26.7% Hankook: 33.3% Bridgestone: 26.7% BFG: 13.3% Toyo: 0% Numbers do not add to 100% due to rounding. A more interesting analysis would be to know the percentage each brand made up of total street tire entrants, to better see which tire tends to filter towards the top. I don't have time right now to dig through 15 classes and find that out though. |

So basically what in seeing so far is all the new tires are "in the ballpark" and it will likely come down to driver(driving style) and conditional preference. Imo.
I'm really on the fence myself, likely zii* or rs3v2. They have to pull double duty, track and autox. |

Randell Prince won the tour in my car. I finished 5th. He's the one who cleared the field by almost a second on Sunday. It was a hero run for sure.
To answer the question about CS, it still comes down to driving. Nick just was better by .2. Conditions were perfect on Sunday. Temps in 70s. I don't think they are magic pixie dust.. But they are crazy quick.. Will be looking at results on the rival S before Moultrie Match Tour for sure. |

Right now my impressions so far from what im reading here is that the RE71R, the ZII Star Specs, and the RS3 v2's are all very quick and can't go wrong with either one.

personal preference is a very big issue. I know a guy that tried different tires due to "hype" but always kept going back to the RS3, he just felt most comfortable and confident on them. And confidence = speed. Simple as that.

It is personal preference to a point. yes. however, if tire A has .2g more lateral grip than that of tire B. that "comfort" level goes out the window. Then it turns into to a certain "uncertainty" above and beyond your comfort level. Thats what makes people "Alien" fast..

Although, it pretty much says the same thing as all the other data: All the tires are very good this year, and it doesn't seem there is a clear cut "the tire" this year (at least not yet).
