Someone please give him a JRSC 86 to drive and videotape it

Being that this is the owners thread, i'll share this info here. just got a UOA done after a little over 3k miles on the kit. Shortly after changing the oil/sending in the used oil for analysis, I added the JR oil cooler kit and an oil temperature sensor to the gallery plug to the left of the alternator. Now my oil doesn't see over 185 on my morning commute(25/75 city/hwy driving) when morning temps are in the 50's Fahrenheit. On the way home, in traffic with some ocassional WOT up to 5kish, it'll bump up to around 220-230 and sit there.

UOA looks good, no unusual wear so yay! Almost done track prepping my car now with the oil cooler. Need decide how i want to hook up the oil pressure sender, then I need to get rear lower control arms so I can get some negative camber in the rear. Its so close to 0 right now according to my alignment dude(I only lowered my car an inch after putting some 18x9.5 gramlight 57xtremes)

Hope to see you guys in Fontana soon, after I go through the instructing stuff haha.

We have a solid report with a 7000 mile interval on the CSG car... I suspect the JRSC won't add any noticeable wear and tear at a UOA level

Hi - can anyone chime in with the feel of the SC? Hopefully that makes sense.

I came from a turbo car before. I do not expect that turbo boost, but as the car is now feels like it has to work very hard [maybe I need to change my driving habits] as I did not regularly take my car to higher RPMS to pass on the freeway.

I'm trying to eliminate the early lag the car feels like it has climbing speed. It feels like it's super strained in 1st and 2nd gear . In 5-6k rpm my car feels like it's trying very hard but not doing much.

Hopefully this makes sense. Useless back to back meetings all day..

The power delivery is similar to a NA motor that has no torque dip and just keeps accelerating to redline. The torque is a positive slope so you feel the most acceleration at redline. Around 1-2k RPMs, it doesn't feel like much.

As a fortunate owner of this awesome supercharger, I agree 100% with CSG David's statement.

My previous car was also a turbo (EVO IX), and if you really enjoy the turbo surge, then I would either look for a turbo kit (duh) or really temper your expectations with this kit.

However, due to the linear power delivery, the speed of the car can be somewhat deceptive. At first it didn't seem fast and it felt like I was doing maybe 50 mph, only for me to glance at the speedometer and notice it's reading 90+ mph.

And I only have the CARB tune with no other power mods.....

So I have BRZedit installed, I am shortly purchasing this kit but I am hearing it is next too impossible to get the BRZedit off to put on the ecutek software. Any truth on this?

Now I'm getting somewhere around 30-32 MPG on Auto and 25-28 MPG on Sport. I don't think these are telling since this really has to do with your driving habits and my foot has been a lot heaver than when I was stock.

tl;dr Worth it!
Finally an Auto car in the OC area with the kit. Would love to meet and get a ride if possible.

Do you have the oil cooler as well?

So I have my brz in the shop getting my kit installed. Small issues, I bought the kit second hand and it is missing the PVC valve, firewall grommet and the vacuum tee was broken. Any one know if these parts are specifically designed by JR or if an off the shelf one would work?

Pretty sure they can just be replaced with any similar one.
