Turn up your music until you can't hear it anymore. Problem solved.

They are here to stay. Don't waste time and effort trying to get rid of them.

Please talk to the dealer first, or read your Owner's Manual.

most people will say its not worth even trying to get a replacement at a dealer, because it won't fix the problem (long term).
I can tell you that I was at my dealer for service, they heard the crickets and replaced the pump. It has been about 8000 miles since and I have not had a single cricket since. Pump and labor paid for under warranty. |

I have a 2015 FRS, purchased new. It has crickets and I live with them, having read much about these cars before purchasing one...and expected they'd be there.
I purposely bought a 2015 to avoid some pitfalls, of earlier year cars. I wanted a car without squeaks and rattles in the interior, and without leaking tailamps. It cost me about 7000 dollars or so MORE to get a new car. Wish I'd not done so. Tailamps could have been fixed under warranty, and I could have fixed squeaks and rattles by reading about the fixes online. Now I've got a new car, worry constantly about it's being damaged by others in parking spaces...and that has recently happened. Why oh why did I buy a new car ? A used one I'd not have to worry and stress over as much. As a former used car tech, at new car Dealerships, I'm aware of what happens with any new model of any brand of car. There are various problems. Initially techs throw parts at the lst cars, in an attempt to fix things. Eventually the manufacturer has fixes which work, or never does so. Sometimes it's a redesign of a specific part. Best to not buy lst or even second year of a new model. Option is to read all about it, live with it, owning a used car...and enjoy the savings over a new car price. We are very lucky there are no major problems with these cars, despite what Consumer Reports states as being a problem car. Per usual, they are basing their conclusion on bitches and whines of lst and 2nd year customers...and not on what the overall picture is. This is a great car, what do they know. Personal Note: I own a 2005 Mustang GT. First year of a ten year body style. Being the first year, I've had many minor problems with the car. Yet no major problems...as an owner, that's all I care about. I consider it a great car overall. No really expensive repairs...and that's all I'd expect of any car. Just over 1k in my FR-S. No crickets yet. The manual recommended 93 oct from a top tier gas station. I've been using Shell V-Power. Won't be shocked if I do eventually hear crickets. Planning to ignore it.
I have a feeling use of lower oct gas, cheap gas, and/or gas with "any" ethanol is a factor. Is the US the only country that puts ethanol in fuel? Also, I bet a lot of people buy this car not realizing you have to put premium in it. I knew before I bought the car, but no one at the dealship mentioned it. Cracked me up when some review would talk about the FR-S getting great gas mileage($), but say nothing about having to use premium($$$$). I'm sure a lot of original owners put dirt cheap low oct gas in the tank. 2nd owner has to deal with related issues. Since you mentioned an oil change ...make sure you replaced crush ring. |

Just curious, has anyone tried Sea Foam in a GT86/FR-S? A buddy of mine recommended it for our 2005 Highlander. We put nothing but cheap gas in it. http://seafoamsales.com
I'm not a mechanic so I'm not recommending anyone do it. Just curious if anyone has and if it resolved any issues, including crickets. |

I always use Sunoco Ultra 93. It's just a preference for me.
