Cars are meant to be driven, I was storing mine for winter and even trailered it home on delivery day, but I realized after spending almost $50k on the car with mods and such I just wanted to enjoy driving it and not sit around staring at in my garage.

First winter in my BRZ and I have actually enjoyed it! The car is way too much fun in the snow.
I drove a 400+hp BMW before this, and despite having double the power and triple the torque, that car was actually better in the snow! I think it's because it was so much heavier. This car is so light that, even with crazy tractor snow tires, it feels "flighty" sometimes and seems to break traction really easily if the roads are any more than slick. My only "incident" so far has been when I tried to drift into the Tim's drive-thru in Bolton; I've done it tons of times without incident, but this time went in a bit too hot, locked up all 4, and slid into the snow bank with the front right corner. Luckily there was enough snow to cushion the blow so that there is no visible damage. The bumper must have flexed a bit because the fender liner popped out slightly, but other than that, it's a-ok.

I can say we've only managed to get ours stuck once this winter. Wife came out to find they hadn't plowed her parking lot at work last night. Considering the 300+ cms of snow we've received in the last 4 weeks I can't complain too much.

I've hit a few snow chunks that I was sure were going to clear, then I hear BAM and I swear I can feel the floor panels jump. LOL.
So today, on the highway, with dry roads, I drove onto the shoulder to avoid a questionable sized chunk. Low cars are awesome, but these snow mines are freaking me out! Oh well, I'll still drive the crap out of it, year round, it's too much fun to lock away for 8mo of the year. It's also not exactly expensive or rare. If I had gone the S2000 route, that would have been a garage/storage queen. |

The FR-S vs winter 2015
I tried to get out of my flat, unplowed driveway with 7" of snow. I couldn't get out so I surrendered and parked it in the garage. It didn't help that my mother in law had been driving in and out of my side of the driveway in her RX350 and the packed snow froze. The Rav could get out with ease.

First time I have driven the frs as my only car during the winter, and loved it!
even my frequent trips to the bruce peninsula where winters are real winters and they have to shut the town down for weeks at a time during the winter. Haven't got stuck once although I will admit I carry a shovel in the trunk for the day it happens. All about having a good set of snows and knowing when to turn the trac off and when to leave it on, |

I've noticed myself driving a LOT slower, usually less than the limit in the city and on back roads now that I'm 1.5" lower because of those ice chunks. Am I the only one that tries to kick those out of my wheel wells daily? Quote:
Totally agree with this! Started to consider getting a winter beater for next winter after seeing the rock chips and cracked fog light lens. But then I shook my head and realized it's just a car, and I may as well take the good with the bad. Sure it's rough seeing the car covered in salt and grime, but nothing makes me grin like slipping around and having a good time. |

Hory shet I had to drive my car on actual snow covered roads this morning, it is unbelievably unstable. I am thinking due to the alignment (zero toe, -3 degrees of camber) but it just darts everywhere on slipper surfaces...
