In time everyone will have the car they want. Patience my friend, patience.
BWB, I have no problem getting one for myself, I can place one on order through my dealer now. I just don't want mine base without other parts being available to add on, to then pay them later to put on. Even though I'm mechanically inclined!

Gotcha. Is there a difference in price between buying an add-on at time of purchase versus 6 months later? Just curious - this is all new to me.

Yes! With Scion, when you customize your vehicle you can add parts/accessories & have them placed on the vehicle before taking delivery. The advntage is that you can have whatever accessories thrown on to your liking and have it thrown into the loan, paying a little extra a month on your payment. Everything is covered under your warranty. If you buy the car & 6 months later have accessories/parts put in, you will have to pay for the labor to put it in & come out of pocket for each item you want. I think its better to roll I all into the car payment & you have everything you like for your vehicle that is able to be purchased from factory. Don't forgt covered longer under warranty, instead of a year.

Correct, but keep in mind, the more you finance, the more you pay interest on as well. Example: If you finance $25k at 3.24% for 60 months, total interest over 5 years is $2,113. If you add $1000 of accessories and finance $26k, same rate & term, total interest is $2,197. You end up paying $84 more in interest and the payment is $18 more per month. Add a bunch of accessories, and it can add up quick.

You will have to pay out of pocket, but as long as it is installed by a Toyota dealer, the warranty you get is the greater of 1 year OR the remainder of the 3 year/36,000 miles whichever is greater. If you install the accessory yourself, then you only get the 1yr/12,000 mile warranty.

As far as if it's better or not to have it installed before you take delivery or not really depends on your personal finances. If you don't mind paying a little more each month in your payment and paying a little more over the long term, then throw it all in the financing. It makes it easier to pay a little each month, instead of paying for it all out of pocket, but the disadvantage is that you do pay a little more for the convenience of spreading it out over the term of the loan. If you want to save the most money, pay for it all at once, but it does sting your wallet more initially when you have to take out $1,000 instead of $18 per month.

If you have a smart phone, download a loan calculator app like AppBox Lite. It will allow you to mess around with rates, terms, amount financed, etc. You can see what effect each item has on your payment and the total interest. It's either a free app or $0.99. I can't remember and it doesn't show me on my phone. It just shows "Installed".

This gentleman can do what he would like with his vehicle sell it, keep it; auction it or burn the damn thing. I was just making a valid point that its a shame for others that would love to have this vehicle! I have no problem with getting one, I could have placed mine on order yesterday afternoon. So if the Forum gods need to slam the hammer on me or lock this thread, so be it. I have eliminated name calling in my post here forth.
It's not the language or whether or not you actually spell out the words, it's the personal attack towards another member of the site.

I think it is time to let this go.. Yeah, the dealer should have called up the first person on the wait list. But that is not the fault of the guy who bought the car. As for making a quick buck.. It is his car, and this is America. That said, if I was him, I would probably refrain from posting around here about how great the car is..

I completely understand Mr. Longhorn... Trust me I'm a calm, cool & collective guy. I get along with anyone. I like all the members here & appreciate their posts and interaction as a forum. If anyone was offended I apologize, it just kinda hit a nerve.
