Wusses!
First manual. Three speeds. No power assisted clutch. (Or brakes, or steering, or choke, or windshield wipers, or windows, or anything else)

after three, 6-speed F Bodys and multiple import/commuter cars that were manual, this is far from the first. One of the strangest clutches to learn, but I have grown to enjoy it.

Easiest stick I have ever driven was my 2002, 6 speed Trans Am (Sunset Orange Metallic exterior with the Black interior). Plenty of torque, all the controls were very heavy, with great feedback. Could teach anyone to drive that car.

Nope! I learned in a 1986 Toyota truck lol, the only problem wasn't the car. But me , I drove it into a tree, and the prior owner drove it into a ditch and it still ran.

My wife was also not a huge fan of driving, however after learning manual and spending some time with the car she's really come to enjoy the overall experience of driving. Could be the car, but I think a large part of it is being more connected to the whole experience.

She actually asked that her next car be manual rather than automatic and often takes the car to work during some pretty terrible traffic with no complaints.

The biggest thing she's going to have to get over are her fears/misconceptions about how "difficult" it is to learn manual. My wife took a course that specifically teaches people how to drive stick with all in-car lessons. It was a great course (local guy) and I would highly recommend something like it. Cost was around $500.

Once she got the technique down it was just practice and getting comfortable with it. Now she's like me, doesn't even think twice about it, she just drives.

Actually, after thinking about the time when I was learning manual in the RX-7, the clutch wasn't weird at all that it was hard to learn in(I remembered how I thought manual was too easy to learn that even monkey with low IQ can learn it). I was just annoyed how I had to push the clutch too far back and legs can't handle it(seat all the way up too), thus I always had cramps if I drove the car too long.

@Choco Aftermarket clutch or stock? some unsprung or low puck clutches can be too much to handle. Maybe get some bigger shoes?

So there is at least one first time manual driver on these forums who burnt out his clutch recently. I can't find the thread.

I have had 3 other manual transmission cars and all of them were sold to younger first timers. They all blew up the clutch soon after I sold the cars to them. One guy blew it up going to 5th to 2nd(missed 4th), one was 5th to 3rd in a 4.4final drive car at ~85mph(he should have went to 4th) car over-rev'd and bent some valves too, and the last one was guy who was clutch kicking trying to drift.

So you are saying you have been using a false pic of yourself all this time!

This better?

At least 6 from my memory! Only one of them would admit it though. All the others were from "the crappy clutch in these cars"

Aftermarket. I believe it's a racing clutch, so definitely not sprung. I don't like big shoes.

This is my first manual car I have ever purchased and from my research I believed there was no other way I'd be able to enjoy the car. Drove it off the lot , and my girlfriend followed me. I think I stalled 3 of 4 times and she would put her hazards on be hind me. Had the car now 6 months and absolutely love that it's a manual. Those first 2 weeks were hell though.
