I think this thread should be locked and the OP given a warning. Just an IMO

For it to work as OP posted. Toyota would have to foot the bill for shipping to #87's preferred dealer. It's a sh*tty situation without an easy solution.

I feel that each of "First 86 FR-S" should be going to the people who were chosen. If one of the "First 86 FR-S" can't take delivery on the vehicle whether financial reasons or didn't like it... It then should be turned over back to Toyota & go down the order of the list of who applied into that program.*

Example: Dadhawk didn't want to take his "First 86", cuz he changd his mind. Now there's an FR-S sitting around to be bought. Right? Rather than any regular joe shmoe coming to buy it, Toyota is notified & the vehicle is offered to the person who was next in line who didn't make the cut. Mr. #87, #88, #89, #90 & etc...

That should be the process that should have been followed. For the real enthusiasts who will cherish & pass this vehicle on to the generations. For the person who watched this forum site everyday smiling at each news feed. That is what I believe is right!*

The buyer was not at fault for this. The dealer should have offered the car to the next person on the dealer's wait list. But what happened... happened.

A warning would probably be appropriate since calling other members a holes is probably against the rules, but I think the rest of the thread has a valid point.

Yes thats why I think its appropriate. But even beyond that, its none of our business what he does with his car.

Scion knows exactly who should be the "next in line" is since everyone that entered the First 86 had to make the color/tranny choice.

Dude there is plenty of FR-S to go around. Just get on the internet and find you. Being one of the first 86 winners was not that big of deal except for the free trip to Cali!

There are actually regular FR-S sitting on the lot or in transit.

I think the program was a great success overall. This is just one of those unfortunate circumstances that they have to deal with and hopefully they would deal with it in the best way.

Money talks, bullshit walks!

TBH, I think they should have done away with the whole First 86 program! It's just a bunch of marking nonsense.

If people want to turn around and flip their car, don't hate on the seller, get at the dumbass who paid more than MSRP.

Well for those complaining I said the A word without spelling it out, I corrected the OP. I'm not trying to get flagged or etc. There are not enough FR-S's to go around, the are very limited to each dealer & some people aren't able to get them in their general area and would have to go out of state to get one if available. This gentleman can do what he would like with his vehicle sell it, keep it; auction it or burn the damn thing. I was just making a valid point that its a shame for others that would love to have this vehicle! I have no problem with getting one, I could have placed mine on order yesterday afternoon. So if the Forum gods need to slam the hammer on me or lock this thread, so be it. I have eliminated name calling in my post here forth.

If he did, he was right. Monday night was the allocation cut-off for the mid-month allocation of vehicles from Toyota. Toyota will allocate cars based on your sales and what you have in inventory at the end of business that day. If that dealer was showing an FRS on the ground and it was not sold, the next allocation may not include one because they have one sitting there.

My dealership handles the mid-month allocation almost like an end-of-month close where we report sold any vehicle we possibly can. The end-of-month is the second allocation of the month and is also based on sales and inventory at that time as well. Toyota allocates vehicles based on "turn & earn" meaning that the quicker you sell the cars, the quicker they will be replaced.

Remember, they have not officially gone on sale yet.

The only people getting cars are First 86 winners.

The logistics and manpower needed to follow-up with the waitlist from the website, it's just not worth the time and hassle.

In time everyone will have the car they want. Patience my friend, patience.
