Did a little searching and apparently there's a way on CA-FI's forum. I might give it a try.

Will try this soon, thanks.

Could somebody create a pre-rooted version like the former one from burmjeff.com?

Or how can I do this by myself?

Hi. Sorry for the late answer. My bluetooth module number is 20140829. I rooted my device with the rom given. And the only thing that doesn't work is " bluetooth". That's why i wrote so.

Looks like Ca-Fi has released a new low-profile version of the Dashlinq4 called the Dashtab.

http://ca-fi.com/store/index.php?rou...y&path=148_151

Specs are similar to the Dashlinq 4, interface looks a little different though.

Looks like it's running a newer version of Android also (4.2.2)? Unless the newer updates to the Dashlinq4 are 4.2.2 also (haven't updated in a while)

That would be their version of the Newsmy CarPad, which is selling on Aliexpress for much cheaper than what Ca-Fi is charging (even on sale).

I prefer to keep my physical knobs/buttons, but the Newsmy CarPad does offer a pure Android experience if that's important to you. No Carhome crap or anything like that.

Ok, did you try this version too? If not, you may give it a chance...

I don't think Bluetooth is related to the Can Bus.

Dashlinq 4 ROM rooted for new Bluetooth version

Hi Guys,

Need a DEFINITIVE answer here.

Is the USB OBD2 adapters faster (more responsive gauges, boost especially) than the Bluetooth OBD2 adapters?

Well they're certainly not slower. I haven't noticed any detrimental lag when using my bluetooth unit, but I've heard that the USB ones are indeed quicker. Cannot say for sure though.

Anyone else?
