Yeh I heard they did that, now if we could get a Scion FR-s production line here in Jersey that would be cool

I still would like this but sounds difficult at best, but won't hurt to try, I like a good adventure!!

Or maybe they are. What do I know, I'm just a guy on the internet.
My salesman was a former auto enthusiast in his earlier life. I think one of his prized cars was an Austin-Healey. When I first met him, I told him one of the reasons I didn't want a car on the lot because it had the front bumper drilled already. I also wanted the new HALO color. They called around and other dealers had already installed the front bracket.

He was willing to drive to PA (no front plate needed) to swap a car. 1 Hour drive each way.

I'm very OCD and anal. When I ordered my car, I left explicit instructions to the dealer that I didn't want anyone driving it. I also wanted to prep the car myself. The listened.

I got the car with the shipping wrap still on it! It was special for me to prep the car myself.

BMW as well.

It's called European Delivery. You actually get a discount for picking it up...

Hmmm this may be more doable than the pickup at the port. I want it rolled off the ship, then sent to the dealer, and not touched after that. There is not a need to since it was inspected by toyota at the port. But one thing is for sure, I do not want any holes drilled into MY car for the plate bracket. If they do this they owe me a new front bumper cover.

Volvo has a pretty cool OSD arrangement too. Two round trip flights to Gothenborg Sweden, facility tour and two nights in a hotel there. You can stay in Europe and drive the car for (I think) up to 30 days and they have a handful of drop spots around the continent, then you fly out from the city you drop the car in and pay the difference in the plane ticket cost.

If you do a search of the forums you can find a copy of the owners manual (or maybe the service manual) and it tells you what they check over from front to back.

Not to be confused with a PPI (Pre Purchase Inspection).

This is commonly found when purchasing a used car. Most auto enthusiasts do it. Especially Porsche guys.

It's actually called a "PDI".

OP, take a few days off and find out when the shipment is coming with your car on it. Follow it from port and document it with pictures, that would still be pretty unique. Pull right into the dealer behind the delivery truck.

This is great since i don't want anyone "test driving" my car. And all they need to do is remove that white shipping film and I'll be happy!

First off the car doesn't come into Port of Newark, it comes from the Subaru factory and would arrive in Baltimore.

Second, Toyota and Subaru don't have a program to let you do that. The ports are VERY tight on security so unless you have a TWIK card it's unlikely you will get in there.

There is no way to prevent those test drives even if you were there you wouldn't know which one was yours.

Just doing research that is what I found, but Baltimore is still good.

I have no clue what a TWIK card is, can you tell us. I don't need to get in there I can stand outside the gate.

I can tell which is mine by the VIN that I have from it. I will just make it clear to them no one is to drive it or the deal is off. If I paid for it and I have it registered and titled if someone drives it It will be unlawful use of private property.

This is all no biggie, I'm just having fun seeing if this is possible. Would be cool if I could make this happen
