If that's true, that's pretty fucking retarded.

What makes you say the Kraftwerks SC is not suited for DD-ing? I'm sure people can get used to the increased torque and adjust their driving to it.
I said not AS suited. It works fine, just that the positive displacement blowers are more fun for daily driving due to their torque curves compared to the centrifugal ones.

I keep going back and forth between the sprintex and the jrsc, I think the only way to decide it to get a ride in both and see what you like. However I cant seem to find people near Queens NY that own them...

I have had both the Innovate and Vortech kits on my car. It is all going to be a personal preference battle that has been mentioned. I will say that having a custom wastegated Vortech like I have does spool very similar to the Innovate/ Sprintex setups and yet still has the top end pull.

I've always wondered about this - how does a wastegate work on a centrifugal SC? You're actually bleeding boost at the top end?

I believe that's the gist of it - you get a smaller pulley to spin the charger faster, thereby getting boost sooner, wastegate prevents overboosting at top end.

Interesting - I always thought this wouldn't work because the wastegate flow was restrictive... it wouldn't be able to bleed enough boost at higher rpms/air flow rates. If somebody's figured out a solution to this, I'm really surprised this isn't getting more air time, it would solve a lot of the 'issues' (if you can call them that) with centrifugal SC's.

Is the Sprintex system twitchy with torque or is it just enough torque to make for a great daily driver? Looking at the 335

Love that supercharger whine!

I guess it depends on your wastegate sizing. Here's an article from one of the Chevy V8 sites that talks about the application and how you can actually choose a wastegate too big that will bleed off more boost than you want.

By the way, one of our forum members who eventually sold his BRZ's had a setup that kept his boost capped at 10.5 psi with a Perrin EBCS Pro Tial wastegate and the 2.85 Vortech pulley which would normally get you to 13 psi at redline. Found his video on it:

Yup, although, there's not really reason to do that, unless you're running E85 on a stock clutch, and the clutch can't hold the power up top...

Or you're trying to run a small pulley on bad gas *cough CA 91 *cough* and can't handle the peak boost up top...

I have the sprintex 210 IC kit, and it certainly doesn't have a mountain of torque like a big V8 would. So no its not twitchy at all. The 335 on the other hand maybe....but I haven't driven that so I wouldn't know.
