(taking one for the team)....they already had perfectly designed and engineered headers fitted from scratch ( long tubes ) in August. They got sent out to make a production run to copy.....that's were the headache lies and is also why my costs are down, allowing to do the development work for the kit, custom long tube headers run about 5k from vorshlag I've been told. For me and kit buyers it will be substantially less than half that with a production run instead of a one off design. The headers alone on similar LS conversions are worth another 50Hp.
Bless you for your sacrifice!

If weapons grade can sell the total swap kit for $9k and make huge profit, Vorshlag will probably price under them to get more buyers. Swapping out the engine and trans and selling, could net you maybe $4k. All of which would be put forward to the swap.

You aren't very familiar with Vorshlag, are you? They are the definition of the moment when the pursuit of perfection gets in the way of everything else. And their prices reflect that. And they don't care about, nor make any claims to, being lower priced than any other company.

I kinda followed as WGP did the LS2 swap showing very little detail and no results. An informed comsumer would have more questions than asnwers when it come to their product and its final result.

By comparison the Vorslag stuff is artwork on display. I am going to guess that a Vorslag swap is going to net out at net out around 20k by the time you are all finished.

I am also waiting/expecting V8 Roadsters to jump into the fray. While they may still be on the fence waiting to see if the twins sell a critical mass of cars that would make it worthwhile, ( figure 1 out of 10,000 owners do a swap after year 5?)they do have a great track record of making Miata V8 conversions for the masses. They also sell a kit to put the LFX V6 in a Miata so that should be a doodle into the wide bay of the Twins.

Weapons Grade Performance is a hack shop and they do sh!t work. Go talk to the guys at Vorshlag about what they think about the WGP kit. It's comical.

I completely agree, they do half assed work. I was only comparing prices. not companies.

You can kinda get a price estimate prediction from Vorshlag's currently available BMW swap kits and parts.

Vorshlag all the way if I was doing a swap.

^ I was just about to post that.

The Level 0 kit for an E36 is $3900. That's for the mounts, headers, transmission xmember, driveshaft, steering shaft, and bolts for those items. That does not include wiring, their accessory drive kit, CANBUS programming, any coolant/ac lines, or any other hard parts.

I can see all the parts being ~$8k, not including the motor or transmission. For what you're get, that still strikes me as an awesome deal.

I would easily consider 8k for all the swap components. In reality compared to my turbo setup and build cost it really isn't all that different. And the transmission is going to withstand more power than with my setup...

Absolutely. You can build a solid LS for less then a used FA20. The swap parts are pricey, but once you get it in there, you have a much better platform to build upon.

This will most likely be the avenue I pursue when my motor blows (again).
