@Element Tuning is showing us the inconsistency in the swaging process. The top one takes less force to back out over the corner where the die struck offcenter.

edit: Upon closer examination of the photo after discovering it was a high-resolution image, (duh), the assembly/joining process appears more complicated than I first concluded. I'm not sure what was smushed into what but the top one doesn't look smushed properly.

I totally misread it then!
The top one is a mess though.
Be interested in seeing N1rve's fail one.

An easy way to locate a ticking sound like a rocker is to get a stethoscope from an auto store. unlike the Dr. type it will have a rod on the end (about 12in.) that you can place against different parts of the engine. A single loud rocker is easy to find. The same for an injector.

Especially if he's Ted Nugent.

I've been inspecting and listening very careful, even driving around with no music and looks like we have the same issue. "Tapping" is the best way to describe it and like what you said it gets loud when you drive it and somewhere around the passenger side. The thing is idk what my warranty type is.. From what I know, my free maintenance is 20K only and they said something about warranty up to 35K.. My current miles is 21K and I just had my last service and according to them, the noise is "normal"

Scion provides this...

Maintenance (Oil Change/Tire Rotation) - 24 months or 25k miles, whichever comes first.

Bumper to Bumper (Everything except wear and tear) - 36 months or 36,000 miles, whichever comes from.

Power Train (Engine & Transmission Only) - 60 months or 60,000 miles, whichever comes first.

What dealer did you take it too?

Currently in the progress. Toyota Engineer will be here tomorrow to inspect the engine and begin reinstalling the engine along with performing tests on it.

Take it to Longo Toyota. Let them know of your concerns and replicate it to them. Record it if you can.
