light rattling randomly on acceleration?

Not shifter rattle and doesnt sound to ne coming from engine but maybe something up front...anyond had this issue and if so what did you do to fix it? Sounds likr somethings loose and vibrating around 3k. Only mods are intake exhaust openflash tablet and coilovers.. someone told me it was the stoxk header heat sheild? Also only happens under load

I would check the heat shield.
Pretty vague description to try to guess anything else.

same thing just started with me. It might be a different issue though. It sounds like a loose connection, or some type of leak next to the front pipe. My exhaust is much louder than normal and something rattles when I start the car up. Sometimes it stops, and the exhaust sounds normal once the car warms up, and sometimes it doesnt. I just need to get under the car to find out for sure.

I have always had the exact same thing. Only sometimes, if I lean into the throttle there's a tiny quick rattle, if I let off and tap sharply it might happen one more time but after that if I try to replicate it it won't happen until later. Rarely happens, usually when I'm in a higher gear but that is maybe the only reason I hear it over the exhaust.

Try flashing it back to stock and see if the noise goes away. Could be the timing advance causing a harmonic noise in the exhaust around that RPM.

Reason I mention this is because when I flash back to stock for inspection, my car is about 10 times quieter around that rpm. The tune really increases the volume.

The openflash tune's have cam timing in that region which makes a pretty loud metallic rasp like sound. It's not harmful, it's just a sound. But yes flash a stock map and make sure it's not something other than that.

Does it sound anything like this?

I'm on oft stage 1 stock and I'm getting this rattle as well that is most definitely separate from the rasp around 4k you get from the tune

I'm untuned and I get this noise, so it's probably not entirely the tune

Yes! I've been hearing this for a while, I'm on a stock '15 BRZ. I am able to recreate this sound continuously by jerking the car using acceleration, around 3k on the 4th/5th gears, accelerate then lift off, and repeat.

I'm subscribing to this thread because the sound is concerning to me, thank you for bringing this up!
