Oil Filter End Cap Wrench

Can anyone confirm if the Lisle End Cap Wrench is the correct size for the oil filters? The cup wrench is 82mm w/ 15 flutes. Thanks,

This may be the correct wrench from Assenmacher Specialty Tools, but its identified for use with the 15208AA031 filter on an H6:

I can go measure my filter later with a caliper. However, you really don't need to tighten it so much, it's written on the filter to lube the o-ring then tighten ~3/4-7/8 of a turn after contact. I've always been able to remove my filters by hand. If you need a wrench (or how some stick a screwdriver through it) it's being installed tighter than necessary.

I got into the habit of tightening 3/4 of a turn after contact but most of the time I still need a wrench to loosen them. I installed an oil cooler on my BRZ so there isn't much room to grab the filter with my hand with the AN10 lines in the way.
I really like the steel end cap (cups) or wrenches to remove filters on my other vehicles. I measured the filter and its roughly 82mm.

Thanks,
JP

I picked up two Lisle end cap wrenches at O'Reilly's, one 80mm w/15 flutes and one 82mm w/15 flutes. The 80mm fits the OEM Subie 130 filter perfectly. And, the 82mm fits the Wix/NAPA filter 57830. These are steel 'wrenches' and will not slip on a filter like the plastic ones.

80mm Lisle part #61550
82mm Lisle part #61530

OP,
Why even bother ordering a filter wrench from CariD, overpriced and they are terrible at keeping track of stock since they drop ship everything.
Just take your filter down to Advance Auto and match it up. They have metal cap oil filter wrenches for $6. in all sizes.

Most of your auto supply stores carry several sizes of the end cap wrenches, but I didnt have any luck matching up the right sizes for the filters I use. But, O'Reillys was able to order them in from their warehouse in Houston w/o passing on any shipping charges to me.
