I agree 100% and I feel the same way. Hell, I'm from TX... I love a lifted truck with a tasteful lift (6" max), mudders and nice rims, but I will be the first to comment on the truck that I could literally drive under if the timing was right (probably having something to do with compensation for other shortcomings).

A certain percentage of people will always be ignorant, pass off their opinion as fact, and make some gross generalization about the driver and anyone like them. But those people's true colors always show through almost immediately and they are easy to ignore or flame further.

I was commenting on the fact that people were starting to neg the OP because he created a thread for us to discuss the things that people are doing to the cars that we love that make us want to punch babies. Public-shaming of someone for expressing their opinion in a coherent manner is just as ignorant as the guy saying "stance is stupid, I rule".

I think you would tell everyone. I doubt you'd run around waving your arms screaming it to the world.. But you would talk about it for sure.

And I hate fake tits, but mostly because they are like balloons with skin wrapped around them. What fun are they if they don't jiggle around? It's irrelevant anyway since they are very much real in the sense that they are tangible and a part of the persons body.

A better analogy would be a girl stuffing her bra with tissues, and I would lose a little respect for that.

Let's clarify here... there has been one discussion so far that has crossed this thread. Mudflaps. statement, was "I hate them they are ugly" (Basically). discussion was "I have the OEM on my car... I like them for X reason. Or did you mean the aftermarket rally armors?" (Basically).

And That was a situation which was positive and adult and where the individuals involved showed maturity and class. Opinions were expressed and no one cared. I rather enjoyed it and almost joined in on it because I am actually into the mud flaps. OEM and Rally armor, though I want the black and not the bright "HOLD ME JESUS" red slapping you in the face. I'm in to small, tasteful mods that show personality but have minimal impact on resale. I'm into functional mods, too. Your Aero looks like shit? okay, But does that aero do wonders on a track? now we're talking.

So, keep your **** in your pants. This isn't some circle jerk. You're right. But this thread also isn't a discussion. It's a flame season. You should learn the difference or learn to leave opinions open for debate.

So here's an example with my opinion: I don't like stanced cars. I've never understood them. To me it makes it seem like you're not utilizing the tires properly and destroying what engineers spent a long time to design with the suspension travel. This being said, Is there something I am missing? I know we compared this to the Low-rider community, where they used to run small tires, wide spacers, and slow while low.

Am I safe assuming this is all for the cruise and style with no "practical application" behind the build? Just built to cruise?

Simply form over function. No more, no less. I appreciate the way it looks, I appreciate the time put into it(on a properly done set up of course). But, the biggest reason I wouldn't do it, is simply tire wear. I can't afford to be getting new tires every few months.

EDIT: To touch on the mudflaps, I have the OEM ones. While I feel they kind of intrude on the overall look of the car, they're super functional and I'm pretty stoked I have them

Stance isn't lowrider and that shit might be taken as an insult. Lowriders are sexy and aesthetically pleasing. stance looks like the car is squatting to poop.

Main thing in this thread is that my stock car was called ricer while the same dude said the ugliest shit I have ever seen was "beautiful" my comments have continued the path his dumb ass comment paved.

Trying to keep emotions out of this, I am not saying that I personally compared them. I am saying that within this thread someone made a reference to them. I didn't mean offence, because the communities are very different in culture.

@Bergen23 - See, I want them. I am thinking OEM is where I will swing. I can't justify $130 for the aftermarket. But, this is toward the end game of thinking the rally look is unique enough that If I decided to keep the car on past the "loan life" of the vehicle, then I think I'd do that. Not everyone's taste, but like the user who dipped his hot pink, it'd be something different.

You should have seen the looks on people's faces when I first told them this at my local meet. The next weekend, I was in the dirt while they all watched me sliding at a Scion for Soldiers event. We did a horse barrel race. Suddenly it was a bit more understood, though not widely accepted.

haha I don't get offended. I just grew up in that culture and know a few of my uncles that would punch me in the face if I compared them.

@Celadrielas If the car didn't come off the showroom floor with the mud flaps, I probably wouldn't have bought them separately. But given the fact they were free, and they're quite small and unobtrusive I can't complain. Plus just the common sense thing of having them, I get less debris kicked up at my car, so less potential damage. I like that.

This is a PUBLIC forum for people to share ideas, opinions, tips and information. Not a circle jerk where we make everyone feel better by singing kumbaya and making smores (though I am down for some smores if anyone wants to organize an 86 camping trip )

Every person is entitled to make their car how THEY like it... once it is shared with the world via the internet, we are all entitled to have an opinion of it, good or bad, and we are all entitled to share that opinion on this public forum.

If you don't like it, don't read it. Or if you enjoy open debate, tell me why you don't agree with my opinion by expressing your own... But bashing someone for explaining why they don't like a certain mod, trend, style, etc. is hypocritical and is just an attempt to suppress free-thinking and open, constructive discussion.
You think ME "bashing" you all for being assholes is wrong? But you think that bashing peoples cars is okay? Are you that ignorant?

You are taking one piece of my post and taking it out of context. I said that I ALSO DISLIKE SOME CARS POSTED IN THIS THREAD.

However, I don't think that just posting photos of them in a "worst FR-S/BR-Z thread" and not really saying anything about them, or saying that you think a trend or style "needs to die" or that a car just "looks like shit" is definitely not the right way to do things.

I think some people really need to elevate their standards when it comes to car mods, but just hating on each other does nothing. It's people like this that make the car scene suck.

You're worried about me insulting someone by comparing stanced cars to lowriders but have nothing else to say about someone getting offended by people trashtalking other peoples cars in this thread?
