hail damaged bonnet- where on earth do I find a replacement ?!

Hey guys, first post on the forum!

picked up my new special edition MY15 brz last week, got it for like 15k cheaper than usual because it copped hail damage on the hood as it was waiting around at Brisbane docks.

Only problem is.. i need to change the hood, PDR is too costly and time consuming so just going to go for a replacement.

Anybody know where I can find one?

Cheers

They are about $900-$1000 from Toyota new + paining, so if you saved that much, a new bonnet would not hurt

Try motor wreckers for a good secondhand one or try your own pdr skills.

Yeah there are one or two on the roof and front quarter panel which are an easy fix with PDR, but the bonnet being made out of such a lightweight aluminium it got covered in small dents.

I guess the manufacturers didnt have hail in mind when choosing their materials lol

The best guy for glue pull PDR in Sydney is Lee from Impact Dent at Castle Hill.
He pulled out two dents from my BRZ.
Three panel beaters and another PDR guy told me (bs) that the rear glass had to be removed and put it through insurance (with a $650 excess).
So maybe spend some time to find the best PDR guy in Melbourne.

Spoke to Subaru today, they ask 1000 bucks for unpainted, toyota charge 1200.. no idea why! lol. i think i might get a carbon fibre one for around 800 bucks and if it looks ricer/tacky i will get it painted black or at least wrap it black in the meantime. at least if it hails again it will be stronger than the original !

Yeah I actually received the carbon fibre one today, it looks pretty neat. Set me back about 830 delivered. its really dark so it blends in with the black really well, thank god I dont have to get it painted. The other minor dents will come out easy, I know a guy, thank you though!

Will post some pics once its done
