the limited pre-production I sat in had the substitute-looking leather so I'm wondering if they upgraded it for the retail version

I'm fairly certain they are the same. Subie site has both models listed with "Leather-wrapped steering wheel and shifter handle"

they might both be real leather, but maybe a difference in quality/type?
yea the premium also looks like the "leather" wrapped wheel on Scion tC's

yea that's true but maybe there's a difference in quality as Tainen mentioned. not a big deal but i love the feel of "real" leather steering wheels

That silver looks nice. I am torn btw that and the dark gray (raven?).

If you get the chance, could you post a picture or comment on the headlight beam pattern against a wall or lighting up a dark road? I have been looking for pictures of the brz HID headlight patterns with no luck.

Keep in mind, ive only seen 1 brz, being the Hermosa beach one. The other cars Ive seen the interiors up close were the insides of PD's white FRS and the orange FRS at Toyotafest. But from peeking inside of MotoP's and the FiveAxis FRS, there was no noticeable gap either.

The hid pattern is pretty straighforward. The driver side light edge does not go as far as the passenger side (I'm assuming so I don't blind other people). The transition from the the driver side to passenger side is noticeable ( think tabs on folders). The light is too bright to check out in my garage wall, I'll try to take a pic when I have it parked to a wall further out in the dark

the steering wheels look the same, its just that you can't tell the details on the limited picture because the wheel is either out of focus (1st pic) or too far away (2nd pic)

Thanks. I appreciate it. HID is the only thing keeping me away from the FRS.

I went in the brz today and stared at the steering wheel. My limited steering wheel looked exactly like perrin's premium

The question is, How long did you stare at it for?? Anything less than 5 minutes is a complete failure.
