Oh yeah, for a minute I forgot we had a VSC Sport setting. I always either leave it completely on or turn it completely off LOL

Ok, you are actually right.
For each button (VSC and TC) there are two options On or Off, but the duration of the button press makes another option (Short press = Off, but just for a minute)

However in all honesty, there is a fourth & fifth option: Pedal dance or remove ABS fuse.

As others already mentioned, Power holds gears for faster / more responsive accelaration.

I drive mine in power mode all the time and then add to the fun via the paddle shifters. Really depends on how fast you are driving but in my common 50 and 60 km/h zones it will sit in 3rd, bouncing round 3000 and 4000rpm and on light steady throttle (at around 65) then click to 4th. In general city driving it effectively lops 5th and 6th off the list of gears.

I tend to gear brake often when pulling to a stop, but don't go all the way down to 1st (just 2nd) and let the auto box do the rest when coming to a stop. Unless you want to look like a tool pulling up to a stop and reving the crap out of your car.

I lovingly call Power the F*** that button as regular auto mode makes me want to /wrists.

Can't beleive how much more fun the car is due to that button and teamed with shifters.

I think you're still wrong, and I will not be handing you the answer with or without your level of snarkiness.

Another poster provided you with a source to correct information.

WTF does that mean?
I wasnt the one asking the question and I know exactly what the buttons do.

To clarify your previous post (which at least needed expansion):

1) short-press of the trac button turns traction control off, but only until you hit 30mph. This is to be used when starting on snow or ice. In that situation, the traction control may be too aggressive and prevent you from setting off.

2) long-press of the trac button turns the traction control and stability control off entirely, and they stay off until you press the button again or turn the car off. (Note that the car will still use electronic brake force distribution (EBD), which can cause problems if you're on a track and trail-braking. In that situation, the car would think you were performing a panic stop and would jump in to save you.)

3) pressing the VSC Sport button allows you to get a little bit more sideways before the electronics jump in and save you. There is no long-press function for this button.

4) the only way to disable EBD is by performing the pedal dance. ABS will remain enabled.

5) the only way to disable ABS is by pulling a fuse.

Edit: this is an answer for the thread, not necessarily for you, stugray.

You cannot turn the system off entirely without the pedal dance or pulling the fuse.
There are cases where the system will re-engage itself even after the:
"both button long press - until both dash lights turn on" mode.

I have personally witnessed it and I nearly totaled my car when it re-engaged.

I dug myself and my Subie out of 20cm of snow this morning. I turned tcs of by holding the button down.

After a while, i noticed the tsc indicator blinking, but I'm not certain if it kicked back in, as i was still allowed to spin my tires.
