Definitely the BRZ, because cops just assume the BRZ owner is driving like an asshole based on the car.

Note: Not all Canadian cops are nice like they are to tcoat....
I mean, they're nice, but they don't always let you off because you're polite.

I've received 3 tickets since I got the BRZ. In all instances, I'm super nice to the officer.
The worst one was a 128 in a 90 zone (the DVP of all places) - I think I just had the bad luck to get pulled over on one of the coldest nights last year (the officer had no wish to chit chat at all, and I didn't even try to sell any sob story).

The lowest one was doing 54 in a 40 zone (I live in a mixed residential/industrial area - that stretch of road is a big straight 2 lane) - I think the cop realized that I wasn't driving dangerously (he mentioned they had gotten complaints of speeders on that road, so I guess they had to do "something") - he knocked it down to 44 in a 40 (I suspect it was a hint for me to opt for a trial and hope that it would get thrown out).

FWIW - I think Toronto cops do have a quota - last year, during a kerfuffle between our local government and the police union, cops were writing noticeably fewer (if any) tickets, possibly as retaliation (the municipal gov't gets revenue from tickets).

Ya I have never been pulled over by a Toronto cop!
I should also add that of all the tickets I avoided many were when I was young and driving a car with a nice big Military base pass on the windshield that may have influenced the results a bit as well.

I have been pulled over about 5 times since I got the car (mostly speed related), but so far only one ticket and that was for rolling a stop sign. Every interaction has been friendly or at least polite and good natured. Although when I was a bit younger (immature) and didn't have my upstanding-and-responsible-citizen card I had several stops where the cop was either pissed (and totally justified for it) or rude and every stop ended in a ticket.

I've had the car for 2.5 years now and I've only been pulled over once 3 weeks ago and it wasn't even me driving. My wife work in a kind of rough neighborhood and I'll pick her up for lunch once a week. So we're having lunch at the a nearby park when a cruiser patrols through.

So we finished our lunch and the wife wanted to drive the car back to her work, as we droved through the neighborhood again we run into the same Leo. Right when they saw us they pull over to the side and let us pass, I knew they were going to pull us over and they didn't dissapoint.

Said they pulled us over for no front plate but I think it was more of them being suspicious of us then anything else. Asked what we were doing and explained the situations to them. I have 20% tint all around and 50% windshield tint and they didn't said anything about that.
Ran both our lincense and let us go. No warning or anything.

Only two months with my FRS, but I have already noticed a difference. A paradoxical one.

I actually drive more moderately in my FRS. Sure, I'll have a bit of "spirited" driving when I can, but my rank/file, Beltway DD'ing is definately more subdued than in my previous cars (MDX, CRV). Maybe it's b/c I know I can, so I don't have to? Not sure, but it's def a pattern for me.

Hopefully this translates to counterbalancing any potential predetermined beliefs about FRS/BRZ drivers when it comes to speeding tickets.

This thread cracks me up. I have only been pulled over three times in the past 20 years. During those twenty years I have lived in seven different cities, on both coasts AND Hawaii. I log more miles than the average Joe, roughly 30,000 miles per annum.

It's not the cops. It is YOU.

What's even more funny is the stupid people in this thread who just assume that if we're complaining about police attention, it means we're getting pulled over a lot.

I rarely get pulled over. Instead, I get cops following me, obviously changing lanes to get behind me, tailgating me in some cases to try to provoke a reaction and hitting me with laser or radar much more often than they do any of that when I'm driving my Jeep. I see them running my plates, but then they don't pull me over because I haven't done anything wrong. A cop doesn't actually have to pull you over to be a cock.

When I finally did get pulled over, the cop was just a fucking liar.

Anger issues much? I don't get cops following me, or otherwise paying any more attention to me than anyone else.

Calm down bro.

How do you know? Maybe you're just not noticing it. You couldn't be arsed to pay attention to what people were actually saying in this thread, so why should anybody believe you're paying attention to what's going on around you in traffic?

I read the entire thread. I am a stickler for details, as my job involves explosive devices. I pay attention to everything.

I work with and around law enforcement entities, as a general rule they don't pay attention to people who don't call for attention.

again -

Canuck kops HAVE TICKET QUOTAS !

But officially not of course.

Here's how it works - virtually everywhere in Kanuckistan - and I've seen it in Amerika as well.

Young officer rookie wants to be a TV detective, not a taillight chaser, so come yearly evaluation performance time the NCO says - "I see you are below average on your traffic enforcement - hmmmmmmmmm - you will have to balance your enforcement before your next evaluation."

Another way they do it is units of work per hour of patrol time, (considered free time as the officer is not on a call) a traffic ticket or a caution is supposed to be worth the same brownie points, but are not recorded the same allowing supervisors to enforce a non official quota.

There are other ways also.

Then there are the smaller municipalities with small town departments, - and any kind of small town hillbilly inbred nonsense takes place amongst the kops including official quotas, bribery, bestiality etc., no different than anywhere else.

Unfortunately a major change is taking place across Kanada's policing, that of stronger local political control, so politicians can enforce their agenda!

Forget about illegal traffic tickets - politicians have instructed large police forces to illegally charge citizens for the political party agenda, and this practice is rapidly growing (more so amongst our provincial socialist socialist governments).

AND unfortunately is SOP in the RCMP. The donkey walloppers are the federal police force and is responsible for many illegal criminal charges. The commissioner (Chief) escaped censure for that behavior recently by going on a paid 6 month maternity leave to be with his wife (LOL). The Prime Minister of Kanada wanted his blood !

A cop about to pull a car over usually has his mind made up, he is fishing, and when the fish comes along little can be done by the fish to prevent being caught, politeness helps, but behavior to make the cop feel safe goes a long way. You have to watch your meta messages and body language very carefully.

Kops are people, and people although the same, they are all different so expect the unexpected.

Hey there R, it looks like you may have a bit of a political agenda going on there!
I have absolutely zero evidence to dispute a single word of it though so will just come along for the ride at this point.

The political agenda comes not from me, only the warning.
