Police encounters

I used the search and couldn't find anything similar to this, so please let me know if I am mistaken because search always gives me troubles when being specific.

Anyway, I'm curious how the police treat you guys when seeing your car. Do you get pulled over often and if so do they give warnings or usually just jump to tickets because they see a "racecar"? I've personally been pulled over once just for driving the car, doing 32 in a 30 and the cop Tried to get me with some bullshit about needing to slow down but danced around the question when I asked what he clocked me at. The only other time I was extremely fortunate to have a nice cop, on Christmas night I made a left lane pass on an unmarked car going north of 100mph in a 55mph zone and right when I got on his left side the cherries lit up and I was ready to say goodbye to my drivers licsense but he just told me to slow down and enjoy my night when he walked up, no give me your license and registration or anything. Post your interesting encounters with the law!

I haven't been pulled over yet (knock on wood). I think it helps that the stock car is so quiet and doesn't have any big wings or hood scoops. The car looks fast, but it doesn't scream boy racer like a WRX or Mazdaspeed3.

I got pulled over by a state trooper when rolling through a stop sign early one morning. He asked what I was doing and I told him I was headed to the track (we were basically across the street from it). He laughed and said "Isn't that car really slow." I laughed back and said "Yes sir, but only in a straight line. It will surprise a lot of cars in the corners." He chuckled and handed me a warning and let me go. First time I have ever gotten a warning from a state trooper.

I've only been pulled over once in my FR-S. Cop pulled a uTurn in the middle of the night. Asked me if I knew why he stopped me, said if I had to guess sir probably my lack of front plate. He asked me why I did not have one, I said sir do you see any place to mount it without drilling into the bumper. He said nope, would not want to do that to a nice looking car like this myself and let me go without a warning or anything. Think he just wanted to check the car out.

Rabbit of Caerbonnog 01-28-2015 11:32 AM

Had a warning issued to me for not having front plates.

It's not the cops or car...it's the driver.

This is what my Subaru look like and I have never been pulled over for 6 years of owning it because i drive the speed limit and don't show off.

Anyways, that's just my opinion. I just remember when I was 17 everyone would tell me I would have cops up my ass for driving a Subaru....nope :)

I had a lying sack of shit Texas state trooper pull me over and claim I was going 85 in a 75, when I couldn't have been because I was behind a car that was doing 71. When I challenged him and said that he couldn't possibly have clocked me, he said, "You were in a group doing 85. I clocked the whole group." The only reason that piece of garbage pulled me over was that he needed to meet his quota and saw a red sports car.

Prior to getting this car, I was driving a Jeep Cherokee that was almost invisible to cops. Since getting the BRZ, I get a lot more negative attention. I've had roided up ex-military type cops pull out behind me and tailgate me aggressively, trying to provoke a response. I've had them hit me with instant-on radar and laser much more often than that ever happened in the Jeep. A few weeks ago I was driving down a rural road 5 miles under the speed limit (because the road was fucking terrible), and fucking Roscoe P. Coltrane coming the other direction nearly ran himself off the road fumbling to get his handheld radar gun out and shoot me with it through his windshield. Out on the highway I had a douchebag hit me with laser, look at the reading and then hit me again with it because he couldn't believe that I was going exactly the speed limit.

Cops boo hoo about how people hate them. Gee. Wonder why. You treat the public like shit, people are not going to enjoy your company.

Got yanked last night. I was behind a lady in a minivan doing 20 under the speed limit. I got real pissed off, downshifted to fourth gear and peeled as soon as the opportunity presented itself. I failed to realize the car behind me was an OPP ghost car. She pulled me over but was unable to prove my speed so she let me off with a warning. Truthfully I was doing more than 50 over the limit, which is grounds for license suspension, roadside car seizure and up to $10k in fines here in Ontario.

Stupid decisions.

I threw sparks on a highway coming home from work one night when I hit a dip and a state trooper was behind me. Needless to say I got a ticket for being too low. Next day, I lowered the car another qtr inch. oops.

Ya those ghost cars are getting harder to spot all the time!
Opp have Mustangs, Camaros, Chargers and by Tilbury a beat to crap at least 15 year old Buick.
I miss the days when you saw Crown Vic or Impala headlights and knew exactly what it was!!!!!

Just got pulled over down near the border in San Diego. Had just gotten onto the freeway and was trying to separate myself from some of the traffic. Sped up to about 80 for a few seconds and got lit up. Cop was pretty cool and let me off with a warning, but it was probably because I'm military and I doubt he had clocked me.

I was just on my way into Hyde Park on Highway 22 right after the West Haven Golf Course. She was driving one of the new blacked out Ford Taurus'. Took me by surprise. As soon as I pulled back in I saw the cherries flip on behind me and I just about pissed my pants. On the bright side, it was two female officers... and neither of them were not difficult to look at.

I notice even London Police are using unmarked Dodge Rams. I see guys pulled over on Richmond alllll the time.

Cops here in SSM have been seen using a Pontiac Vibe and an old 90s Grand Caravan; I got pulled over by the Vibe a few years ago (got off on a warning speeding 80 in a 50) and saw the Grand Caravan having pulled over someone else..

A week or two back I got pulled over doing 10 over. At first I thought the guy was a real **** because I was following traffic (there were at least three cars in front of me and I wasn't gaining on them.) So he walks up to my car and the first thing he says is "I've never seen one of these around here. Oh, only 9000 miles on it!?" We then proceeded to have a 15 minute conversation about the car, then he sent me on my way, no license check or anything. I'm completely convinced he just wanted to get a closer look at my car haha.
