Thanks guys. Ive literally been dealing with customer service since I put the unit in a month ago. They help me fix one problem then another comes up. I had to take out the swc lead because my volume kept going up, I emailed them and he linked me to page 75 here. I asked him if I had to do the antenna lead and amp lead and he said no only the swc. Then I emailed him about the door speakers he told me some bs about checking the speakers to make sure they are hooked up right.

Ok guys i hurried and couldnt wait for the answer and rooted my canbus device with the non canbus android os. And the result is everything works normally except bluetooth... the device doesnt recognise the bluetooth adapter. I think theres something wrong with the bluetooth driver. Can anybody help me?

I read something on the website says that the update you gave here is only for a specific bluetooth module (i think without canbus ones). thats why now i cant use the bluetooth now. I asked Will to give me the original Mazda3 rom with canbus. I hope he can help

Okay... So i figured out that my unit slightly faulty. The blue/white wire (amp remote) isn't providing a strong enough current (probably less than 200mA). This is much less than what is expected.

Who is our normal support contact and what would be the best way to contact them?

By the way, does anyone know what the rated current is given to the Amp remote wire?

Please check your hardware configuration first: SETTINGS > ABOUT DEVICE > BLUETOOTH MODULE VERSION before upgrading.

GT86 models don't have the illumination(-) lead on the car's 6-pin harness, so you can leave the Dashlinq's SWC wire where it is. And GT86 doesn't have an amplifier for the door speakers like BRZ and FR-S in North America, so you don't need to pin the Dashlinq's amp trigger lead.

See the posts by Narcoden and my replies starting at #1659. He found his HU was doing strange things on the HU's amp trigger output and dimmer input. I recommend you use a voltmeter to do the same tests that I list in post #1662. If you find that the Dashlinq's illumination input lead does anything strange, you should un-pin it so it doesn't connect to your car (and post a reply here to let us know).

The wiring on my GT86 worked smoothly, just as described - the only change I had to make was to wire the ca-fi's orange/black harness wire to the blue antenna power lead. No other changes needed.

However - installation was a totally different matter. The GT86 OEM brackets are apparently different from everything I've seen here, and they simply do not match the unit. Right now I am trying to decide how to mount them, but I don't think it will be possible without serious DIY filing/drilling.

And as for my first impressions on the unit - I usually use the radio while driving and totally miss the OEM unit's option to just show all available stations, by name. Also, when using waze, which is still my favourite gps app, radio sometimes randomly hangs.

Sound quality is about the same as the OEM unit, although at higher volumes it sounds just a bit less loud. otherwise, I'm quite happy with it, although I still need to play around for a while before I decide if it's the right thing.

Is the unit sitting too far forward, and preventing the trim panel from sitting flush? If so, you're using the wrong mounting holes. You'll need to file down or bend away the lobe of each bracket closest to the front face of the unit so the bracket can reach the correct set of mounting holes. I just bent mine out, rather than trying to file them down.

I've seen the pics posted here with the correct mounting position - the problem is that I think the GT86 brackets are different from what you have, I'll post some pics later tonight (if I get the chance). My brackets also have some little bumps on their back (the side that sits against the unit) for allignment, I guess. These bumps don't fit any of the holes in the ca-fi, so even when I mount them in what I think is the correct position, they will stay 2-3 mm away from the head unit, which is enough to prevent me from screwing them into the dashboard. Will post pictures later tonight (4:44 pm now in Germany).

Definitely remember the bumps causing problems and dremeling them off. Tin snips made short work of the front few mm of the bracket as well. They cut through the metal mounting hardware like butter.

Yep, if those alignment nubs aren't fitting into any holes, you don't have it aligned right. You will not be able to get those nubs into their proper holes unless you file down, cut off, or bend out the bit of bracket closest to the face of the unit.

Note the flanges at the top and bottom of the bracket on the right side of the image have been filed down in the second pic so the bracket itself can sit closer to the front of the unit. Bending them out away from the body would also work.

Your brackets may look a bit different from this (mine do), but you'll have to do effectively the same thing in order to get it to sit in the proper position.

Do I just do a normal system update from the settings menu to install this? Also, does this wipe all of the apps that are currently installed?
