Honestly if I lower it at all it'll only be like an inch or an inch and a half. What do you mean by tuck? Example?

Lowering the Car and having the car sit in a different position on the suspension arc effectively makes them tucked..or sunken in. The other factor is a small optical illusion that happens when a car is lowered vs. regular height. If a car has 3 inches of wheel gap, and the edge of the tire sits an inch inside of the wheel well, it won't look so tucked, because of the excessive wheel gap. Lower that same car 2.5 inches, to the point where there's 1/2inch wheel gap and keep that same inch of tire to inner fender clearance, the wheel will look much more tucked. If you're going for a certain Flush/semi-agressive look. Always Lower to desired height first, THEN get wheels. You'll get optimal results that way ![]() Here is an Civic Type R with wheels that are tucked.. or conservative. ![]() Heres an MR2..with what most would say is TOO aggressive

Ahhh yeah, I know what you mean, just didn't know the word for it. Any idea what width/height would be necessary to keep it from looking like that? (Not sure if this has been covered already).

Your "flushness" is a factor of both width AND offset. One number is meaningless without the other

Yeah, just figured that one out. I'm looking some more for something with either less offset or more width or a combination (like 17x8 and +35 maybe). Thanks for the lesson.

For the sake of keeping steering geometry true. Its best not to veer too far away from stock offset. +45-+40 is fine. going to the low 30s isnt ideal really. Something slightly more aggressive would be like a 7.5 inch +45 . Very common sizing. Your wheels will stick out 9-10mm more. You could go semi aggressive and and do a 8 or 8.5 +45. This will stick out about 15 or 21mm more. Lower the car first or wait for other members and see what fit you like from others experimenting

I guess i'm lucky, I've got a Set of 5x100 18x8.5 +48's i've got sitting in the Garage that i'm going to Test fit on the BRZ, that'll give me a really good idea what i need for a perfect fit
Wheels CAN be a fairly expensive purchase, let other people figure it out =p Do it once and do it right.

That looks like an impact for the rim to have that damage.

I'll prolly wait until next summer to buy a fancy set of wheels and tires( RPF1 or OZ alleggerita hlt most likely). But for now I'll keep it on stock wheel and tires, but since I really hate painted/machined finish on stock wheel, I'm going to order a few cans of matte black or white plastidip and give them a bit of a facelift
