Congrats

Congrats, Ryan! You beat me to this. I saw the car pop up on AutoTrader so I called Friday. The woman I spoke with said, "Oh no, this car isn't for sale. Some guy won this lottery or something and he's coming tomorrow to pick it up." She didn't know too much about First86 :P.

I'll see you up in the NC mountains when I get my FR-S

So now I guess it's the "first 8 or so"

Seriously though grats on the car and owning the thread. Hoping my car arrives soon, orig date was the 12th, now 17th, hopefully doesn't get delayed again.

I look forward to it!

Of course the only full day I'll have to drive it for 2 weeks, it rains 18 hours straight and NC mountain drivers go 15 below the speed limit in 1952 Ford trucks. Efffffff.

Also,

Is this true? Would this be the third one sold in the nation? If so, wow. I've been reading as much as I can in this forum and am really starting to realize how unearthly/undeservingly lucky I am. So many of you have gone through the proper channels to get your car (and yet are getting delayed )and I just happened to wake up early on a Saturday and dumb-arsed my way into one that I could take home that day. I know it's not exactly true, but I feel like I robbed one of you out of getting your car or something.

Congrats Ryan! I've got a bit of an odd question for you. Your VIN doesn't by any chance end in 234, does it?

So far you are the first known buyer of a First 86 car that became available when the "winner" backed out or changed their mind or whatever. Don't feel bad about it. Enjoy the good luck/timing! We are glad you found FT86Club and are sharing your experiences!

Once more cars are on the road, say maybe next year, we should organize a weekend get-together to go camping and drive the BRP and other western NC scenic roads.

So what I'm curious on is what these people who are getting these cars actually paying in the end? I know there's been many arguments about pure pricing and how it works along w/ dealer mark ups, but I'd like to see some numbers on owners who've already bought the car. Is it the 24,900?

24,930 + 3m paint and ttl = 27,825.08 otd in chicago on an ultra manual.
