How to correcting a scuff mark??
So this winter I was scraping off ice from the windshield. I slipped on ice and stabilized myself with the scraper on my hood. I got away with just a scuff mark on the clearbra. I had the car entire car opticoated. Does anyone have any suggestion on a compound that can remove the scuff mark? I haven’t tried to correct an opticoated car. I don't have a rotary buffer so I would like to do this by hand.

becareful with a rotary buffer. you'll most likely create some hologram unless you are an amazing pro.
start with the least aggressive polish then check the results, if it doesn't work move to a most aggressive conpound. (polish = polishing. conpound = heavy cutting) I use menzerna compounds and polishes and they work great, but something cheaper like sonus also works. just be very careful with the rotary oops. just read that you DONT have a rotary buffer. you can take it out by hand as I've done this before, it just takes a lot of time. |

that's my page, look for the before and after of the scuff mark above the wheel. I took that one out by hand. click on photos and it's near the bottom. |

Yup... Luckily it was just a scuff mark. It was the dull end of the scraper.

Gonna hijack this thread to ask a question since it's related. When buffing out a scuff do you have to do the whole panel? I imagine that if you do just the scuff it the surrounding paint won't look nearly as polished.

I just scuffed the case on my iPhone too. It sucks. I've been trying to buff it out. I might have to get a case for my case. Maybe after some time, I'll end up with a Russian doll. I would get a clearbra for your clearbra bro.

If you do the whole panel then the next panel won't look right and you will be caught in an endless loop of next, next , next, damn first one has dulled start all over again.

![]() I'm still on that honeymoon phase with my car. Had it since July and it has no flaw on the paint except the scuff. I won't care that much once I start tracking the car. |
