Anyone else have torque steer while turning right?
I have noticed that when I turn sharply to the right and punch it I feel something in the steering wheel that seems to be torque steer. It doesn't seem to happen when I turn left. Since the car is kind of low in the torque department, I am wondering if this is a sign of a problem.
I had the alignment checked about a month ago and it was well within specs. Has anyone else experienced this?

err torque steer is only applicable to fwd platforms. It can still happen in the sense .. but you won't get any feedback from the rear wheels through the steering wheel.
Try to describe what is actually happening. |

When I turn right at a moderate speed (say 20-30 mph) and then accelerate hard the steering wheel feels as if it is trying to twist to the left a little. I have to compensate. I've had cars in the past where this was a sign of a broken motor mount, but the FR-S only has 5000 miles on it. Are there any other possibilities to examine?

I'm a noob with cars, but perhaps you're losing traction and TC is kicking in? Just a thought

I'm at a loss. I have no idea why you're front tires would be fighting you only when you turn right.
Did you have your alignment checked?

I feel like you are about to initiate a drift/powerslide .. Your rear end slides out but the front wheels stay in their contact path. That would indeed make your steering wheel turn to the left because that's where your wheels are pointed. I may be misunderstanding what you're trying to say, but you pretty much described what happens whenever I slide my car around. |

I don't think this is the case at all.

That occurred to me too, but I had it checked a month ago and it was well within factory specs. I may have to have it checked again.

No, I don't think so because I have felt TC come on in the past. The first time it happened I thought there was a problem with one of the rear tires. (In a sense, there was. It was slipping!) This is different.

Torque steer doesn't happen in RWD cars.
Alignments off or the road's angled. There's no flat roads in the world, they all have a bit of slope for waste and rainwater drainage. |
