Yeah I've heard that too. But, if all new cars are being mandated with TPMS then Fix-A-Flat might have to make a different formula.

I'm never changing a flat tire. That's what tow trucks are for. The spare will find a new home in my garage. :happy0180:

I've had enough punctures & flat tires to make going without anything a bad idea in my mind. I don't really keep track, but an average of one every other year? It's happened at least half a dozen times.

That said, for daily commute & driving I don't bother carrying a spare in my cars. But I do keep a 12v air compressor and tire plug/patch kit. The past few years my daily driver has been pretty old (1979), so I got AAA as well.

Long trips, the spare goes back in - but not the donut, I get a full size spare.

I have too much bad luck with flat tires. The spare stays in until I'm at the track.

Thanks Peking. Now I'm wondering what is underneath the Nur ver spare, since it appears to be mounted higher.

Maybe the two setups could be combined for double-spare action. Maybe the other trunk items (emergency kit, etc) are also different on other-market models.

I've done that before, with a different car, but the amps I have now, there's just no way. One is about 18 inchs long plus the connections. If you can fit them it really is a better place.

one of the reason why buying a hyundai is discouraging, bc it doesnt come with a spare. You are So out of luck, if u have a flat

On a daily driver, the minimal improvement in performance from removing the spare and jack isn't worth the risk of being caught out with a flat. Now when I AutoX the car, I'll remove the spare and jack. But not when I'm driving around town.

I think you're seriously over estimating how though tires are. Yeah they're a lot better then they used to be, but it still happens. Between my wife and I we have a flat on one of our cars about once a year, and we only drive about 6K miles each. In my 17 years of driving I've never had a punctured radiator or oil pan. (I did have a dented oil pan from hitting some critter)

Personally given a choice I would not only keep the spare I'd prefer a full sized instead of the donut.
