Holy....

JUN don't mess around. Can't wait to see videos of this thing in action at the track. I bet this thing is gonna be a future-classic/legend like their old 4wd cars.

I wonder how much the engine/drivetrain weigh..as well as the overall entire car weight.

The difference being that the synergy will last more than one event.

Well, I assumed two things..
1. You were talking about Mad Mike's 26b
2. You were oblivious to the fact that motor is rebuilt after every drift event, and often does not last the entire event; which is why the rx8 is always taken as a spare.

Not mad mikes, and I wasnt refering to drifting. In which case rotories are not for that.

Edit: my bad not $55,000. Approx $40,000

92kg for the 2.4l, not sure about the whole thing.

They started with a stock car.

Added bigger brakes, bigger wheels (CR Kai) and Ohlins, and the motor swap obviously.

And the car ended up 35kg less than stock.

I dunno man, n/a rotaries can take some serious high rpm abuse, it's just there're more sensitive to knock under boost and thermal issues (the packaging nightmare that is the FD rx7). Get those under control and they make amazing engines, especially race engines with extended high rpm lives. Those na motors in that link would be awesome in a lightweight prototype car IMHO!
