Well duh.. That makes sense. Silly me lol

It's because of emissions//environmental/tax reasons.

Ford's Muscle Car now comes with a 2.3L Turbo I4 that advertises 32mpg highway with a 5.2 second 0-60 mph time, seems like they're following the trend to me.

Edit: As pointed out by Dave below Ford's brand spankin' new halo car designed to win races comes with a turbocharged 3.5L V6

Between this car and the Focus RS I am becoming a huge Ford fan.

My older cars will still be Japanese though

Impressive tq for sure but the fall off is massive. It needs a smaller medium sized turbo like a gt30r or the like. I personally would sacrifice spool for more top end.

Mustang has a 2.3L

Sounds like Ford is using BorgWarner for the I4's but details are scant...

I would love to see..

I would love to see Ford release a new gen hi po mustang with the 3.5 ecoboost.

They're using it for the new Ford GT in a 600 hp form. I could imagine a hi performance mustang version safely in the 500's. The 365hp version found in the f150 is practically bullet proof.

It will most likely happen. Looks like ford will be discontinuing the 5.0 after 2015.
