I agree, FI is faster, more streetable and usually more cost effective. Learned this with miatas. However, it is all moot as because Toyota will be buying back my car. I have had two motor failures, stock, N/A etc. Moving into the LSJ/LNF world of Chevy slowbalts. HEHE no car payment

I'd imagine anywhere from 600 to 1k, yeah. Depends on the features you opt to have built in, I suppose. I'd love one, but I honestly don't know how I would tune for it.
