it's terrible, my best friend in college had a 2014 and hated it after we found out how horrid the suspension and torque steer is on the daily

Can't really argue in it's defense since I only spent an hour in it but I hammered it pretty hard and really had no issues with torque steer and liked the suspension. Did notice some minimum body roll but that is not unusual for a car with it's COG.
Certainly no FRS but it isn't supposed to be.
Sounds like I am glad I didn't go that route though!

I had a golf R and traded it in because it was such a bland car to drive. The nav and stereo were light years ahead of the BRZ, and it has some semblance of practicality (awd in snow, hatch, and 4 doors) but it was pretty expensive for what it was and did not feel rewarding to drive.

The 15 WRX is pretty nice. Granted it's not a hatch but it otherwise is a pretty nice car. I have a couple friends that got them and love them.

My car exactly. The red definitely stands out and I am happy I ended up with that color. I'm so glad you think my car looks like shit. Yep that Corolla looks just as aggressive with those huge flared out fenders LOL

I have the Subaru dealer installed short shifter, it does improve the feel of the cable linkage. Have a few other Subaru options dealer installed as well.

The suspension is a lot mmore like the STI now but so much easier to live with as a daily driver. My decision to go WRX vs STI was based on wanting the high end tech package vs the mid line STI for almost the same cost. I think the STI would have been the choice if I didn't already have my FR-S tucked away in the garage. Also, couldn't get my head around getting a 10 yr old engine design with poor fuel economy in the STI.

Sorry should have ended that with "in my opinion". The styling just doesn't do anything for me and even as a car guy, I have trouble telling the difference between the WRX and any other late model Japanese sedan without peeking at the badges. That being said, the chassis and engine are worlds ahead of the last generation and it's a much better package overall. I just can't see people lusting over the design in 10 years like they do with the bugeye and hawkeye Imprezas

If they actually made it look like the concept, I'd own one right now

Don't take it personally. You didn't design the car.

+1 subaru has officially lost touch with their fans. RIP Impreza 1992-2007

It's just been one issue after the next. The mytouch system ford has is terrible. It's had a faulty wastegate. Worst of all, every time we've had to go in for service, our experience at the dealer is absolutely horrible.

It's a great car to drive honestly. I just feel like this one has some gremlins in it or something. That and the customer service has left me with a bad taste in my mouth.

What? The torque steer isn't even that bad. Especially when compared to other FWD cars with similar power. You get some pull in first and very minor pull in 2nd but that's it. The speed3 pulls like a bitch through 3rd gear.

And I don't know what you mean about suspension being horrid. The design of the front is a bit funky but the ride is good and the handling is pretty damn good for a Fwd car of this size and weight.

It's all a manner of perspective but for what he was paying for it, he missed his sc miata and want to sell the thing, when he got slammed going through a 4 way shortly after we got out of school..

so I found this guy on NASIOC, what do you guys think? I've never bought a modded car in my life, but he has a pretty extensive build journal with every oil change, every mod, and review of every mod. Most of it, seems like I would do anyways, and doesnt look like it has been beat to shit.

2013 WRX SWP, tldr: Stage 1, 57xtreme 9.5/18, nameless, bilstein shock/RCE spring combo, super clean and seems like a good user on the forum (18 seller review, shit load of journal entry's).

Journal: http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show....php?t=2692376

Sale ad: http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show....php?t=2692376

he has the same fucking rims on my BRZ lol.. i think the only things will be lip pieces will come off, and be replaced with real CF..

I had an STI hatch a couple of years ago. I thought in principle it'd be the perfect car for me being an AWD turbo hatchback. While I enjoyed it, it fell a bit short in execution IMO. Steering feel was below average, the handling was just ok with a fair amount of understeer, the ringlands in the engine are fragile, and the interior felt a bit cheap overall.

I got a chance to sit in a new 2015 WRX recently and to me, it seems like much better value for the money. First, the interior is better. Second, they finally fixed the ringland issues with the new FA-series engines. And I've heard the handling is improved and flatter overall. I would go with a new or slightly used 2015 WRX if I were you.

If you really want an AWD hatch, then my money would go towards a Golf R. It's fairly easy to mod for power and the interior is nicer than either the WRX or STI. I currently own a GTI and somehow the Germans are able to make these Golfs feel really smooth and refined. It's probably the grown-up choice of the bunch.

I'd still take one on the track though.

If only it were easy to find low mileage, unmolested Evo Viii's and IX's for a good price. I've tried countless times to find one but never had any luck.

What about a Ralliart then? Sure it is downgraded a bit but you get to keep the turbo and AWD but also gain the folding seats and some of that other goodies. The plastic interior seems worse then it is in actual use though. I got used to it really quick and never even noticed anymore. They also have a rocken sound system if you get the Rockford Fosgate in the US.

For me, I couldn't get a ralliart cause it would feel like I settled. The interior isn't the end of the world, but for nearly 40k, it's a bit of a let down. Granted, that isn't the top priority of those who purchase one, but it's something I take into account since I have to look at the interior every time I'm driving. Plus when I drove it, there was a pretty good amount of buzzing and rattling. Car has about 20k miles on it too. Maybe the one I drove was a bad example-i don't know if rattling is a common issue with those vehicles with that amount of mileage.

It sure was a blast to drive though. Even stock, I love throwing it around. It's a larger car, but it doesn't really seem like it when you're throwing it around. I just feel like for the money, th STI is the more well rounded vehicle. If they put an FA20 into the new gen STI, I'll be extremely tempted to sell to the FRS and get one, and with the recent changes I've made, I LOVE my frs now lol.
