The mechanics of it is pretty cool really

This also is the cause of the "idle fluctuation" that a lot of new owners are worried about. (not to be confused with the early run cars that actually had an ecu problem)

Yes I also noticed the rpm fluctuation every time the ac compressor would engage

For future reference its called an "electromagnetic clutch" basically add an electric charge the pulley is connected directly to the compressor shaft. When I was little I thought i could use that tech to make a mad max supercharger lol

Might be a dumb question but how come it engages and stops and not just keeps staying engaged when the ac is on?

I remember on other cars once you would turn on the ac ..The ac compressor would be engaged til you turned it off.

Thanks for all the info guys

Me thinks it's for the good reason of saving fuel and not waste engine power when it's not needed. It automatically disengages when the temperature sensors in the system say "ok this is good enough, you can have a break now, mr. AC" and re-engages again when it's "not good enough".

Think that's the best explanation I can give right now lol

^ That's one of the reasons and it is also because moisture/condensation buildup tends to freeze a bit on the evaporator, so when it continues to buildup it has a chance to drain off as the system defrosts a bit. If it click on off on off on off repeatedly really fast then that means there's a charge issue (not our case).

Not today, about three weeks ago. Changed the stock appearance to new wheels and ride height. Didn't like the supplied stickers for center caps, so I found these stickers on ebay. This all looks so much better in person than in a photo. Depth and color perception are so much better in real life. Anyway, I'm very please with how it turned out.

Yeah i see

the ac was on but it would engage for only a few seconds and stop and then engage again for a few seconds and so on

Is that a good thing ?

By the way I really appreciate the feedback as I'm trying to learn as much as I can

Thanks everybody
