How long did you own your BRZ before you started modding?

Today marks my 1 month of owning my BRZ, and I want to mod this thing BAD!

Too bad I don't have the funds to do it...

So as the title states, how long did you wait until you decided it's time to mod, and what first?

I tried searching for this topic but didn't see any, so threadgods please forgive me if this topic exists already /bows

I'll go first

After riding in a buddy's 14 STI that has cold air and a exhaust, I really wanted to put those two in mine... Stock rumble is so boring after hearing some of the aftermarket ones.

About a week, if that. Not going to tinker too much mechanically until it's out of warranty, but aesthetics are a full go.

Ah! What does the pulley do? I've seen a lot of people with the pulley mod... Guess I should Google it lol

I considered greddy but decided I prefer Perrin 2.5's rumble better

within first couple days had an order coming in from ft86-sf. very mild stuff. perrin tube, drop in filter, clear side markers and led front/rear turns. and set of perrin exhaust covers to fill out the bumper.

not much really. though I haven't done the crank pulley yet. These were a gift and they left that out. I've noticed the revs are a little quicker up and down and the engine feels "smoother". tough to describe since it's so faint.

yeah, I was going to go with that. the Greddy is a bit loud. but a guy that was literally 2 miles from me was selling his from his wrecked BRZ for $500. couldn't pass that up for a catback that was pratically new.

You're in for a treat reading about pulleys. Make sure you dig deep to read about both sides of that argument.

Iv'e seen people on here posting about buying things for their car before they even got it. I put a Corsa cat-back on after changing my oil at about 5k miles.

It's hard to imagine myself buying things before the vehicle purchase seeing as how the vehicle purchase downpayment was a huge chunk of my savings lol!

If I was young and stupid like I was back in freshmen year, I probably would have already blew 2k on mods

About 4000 miles I think. That's when I changed out tires, wheels and brake pads for track use.

I thought the stock setup was pretty good on the street. Maybe needs just a bit more exhaust noise. I'd start with a UEL header and tune, maybe the OFT + OFH combo for $1000.

I got lucky. I'm not going to dump a bunch into the car. going for a sorta "stock plus" kinda thing until the warranty is out or it's paid off. then I'll decide if I want to do more "stuff" or just get something else. who knows.
