I don't really care for the look of the hardtop, but the Spyder is absolutely gorgeous. I'd love one in black. Or yellow. Or red. Hell - I don't think there's a color that would look bad on that thing.

Alfa 4C Commercial

It deserves it's own thread.

[ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HkmfVsWunJ0"]Alfa Romeo USA | Experience the 4C - YouTube[/ame]

I believe this is the first video advert that has made me actually want a car, ignore all the pretty people and they managed to highlight every inch of beauty in the car, downplay it's minimalist interior and polarizing headlights.

Fuck, I was ok never being able to experience this car until now, now I just want to touch it. Everywhere. For the rest of my life.

Good for Alfa.

But for the same money I think I'd rather have a 40yo GTV. I am SO in love with those. However, any old Fiat, Alfa or Lancia will do. I'm just scared that these new ones will be a bit soulless, a little too good... :-/

The Fiat 500 Abarth commercial is 1000 times better. This commercial is bleh. Over the top. Annoying even.

And I definitely want a 4C. Like I'd sell the FR-S for it. Perhaps in a few years, but I think my next sports car will be all electric.

Summary of commercial:

"The Alfa-4C, it's like sex... with a woman who's way out of your league... and attracts other women who are also out of your league... and you get to show it off to your friends."

or

"Alfa-4C, it's like scoring with that woman that nobody would ever believe you if you told them, except in this case, she's the one to tell them. Awwww yeah."

As an owner, I can definitely say that 500 Abarths are far from soulless. The innovative engine, super low weight, engaging interior design and that beautiful exhaust note don't always equal the fastest car on the road, but they certainly have the most soul of any car in the mini-hot hatch segment. The plus side of modernization has been that the cars run like a clock, dem' valves FTMFW! - Check out this review from a seasoned veteran at Factory Five Racing's forum http://www.ffcars.com/forums/4321082-post40.html

Reviews on the 4C seems to be reflect Fiat/Alpha-R using the same formula. Not the absolute fastest car on the road but certainly the most interesting to look at and fun as all get out to drive. Hopefully the price gouging will subside in a few years, because this looks to be the car to own for someone who doesn't want to roll yet another Boxster/Cayman in the luxury sport segment. In So.Cal, there are more entry level Porsches & M3s on the road than even '86s. and there are a lot of '86s here!

Love those cars, but good luck finding one at MSRP or even close to MSRP in the states.

I'd take a 500 Abarth, no hesitation. The thing is like the automotive equivalent of a rabid Chihuahua and I dig that.
