So, before I read that post and I wasn't really paying attention on my average mileage and all, but I was getting about 10.5 l/km (I'm in Canada)
So, I took a trip to Pittsburgh and the mileage dropped down to 9.2 l/km ofcourse it's coz of the highway or freeway. Then, I drove back and end up with 8.5 L/KM. And now I have been driving in the city for over a month and a half my average mileage and present is 8.6 L/KM. PS: I don't really know how these things work, but if this helps in anyway it'll be great. I was just shifting at about 2.5rpm and when I was crusing I just put my car in Drive and set the cruse. ![]() I hope I can continue to get this mileage. Cheers

Don't understand how some are getting such bad mileage anyway. I know all city driving can be a killer but 10.5 average? I am always at 7.3 and I drive the crap outta my car. If you have an auto why would you manually shift at such low revs?

Like Clarkson said, the FR-S/BRZ is a car you can drive at 9/10 (or so) almost everywhere and still be legal. I have become my former boss(es), one a former weekend stock-car racer, and the other a flat-out nut, who was either standing on the gas or the brake. Both enjoyed the absolute hell out of every trip they made in a car. And the skill they employed while doing so was most of the fun. While I shall attempt to be a bit less abrasive here, I pledge to be even more balls-out in my awesome little car this year. My goal is to drive my mileage into the 15's. My nieces have grown up riding in a f-ing Prius, I'm going to take them for a spin this year. I give it 15 minutes before I return to asshole form here. TL;DR: DRIVE your car like you stole it, it won't be long until you cant. |

I drive mine the way it was meant to be and still get great mileage and that is what has me baffled when I see guys getting so low.

As a motorcyclist, I pay zero attention to the dash. I drive like I ride, which is probably the problem. Gear, sound and feel is what I go by. I know what my bike is doing by how it sounds and feels, and I keep it where it's strong. I do the same with the car, which is NOT good for mileage. My car is probably normal. It's me that isn't. ETA: Heh, thanks. Sarcasm is all I have left. |
