So was anyone able to get online and play last night? It took about 30-45 minutes to download and then I kept get a server error and finally gave up. Go figure.

Played for 2 hours straight. Plays very similar to Destiny but at a faster pace. I don't feel like the shields are strong enough on the Spartans in this one. In 1v1 combat it seems okay, but if two enemies are spraying and praying I feel like I die real fast. Glad to see that grenades actually hit like grenades again though!

Yeah, by the time the Beta downloaded I only had about 30 minutes to get online before the girlfriend got home. Unfortunately, after 15 minutes of getting server errors I gave up. Wasn't able to try later on because well, you know how girlfriend's can be demanding of your time!

So I was able to get one game in last night. Having never played any Halo PvP stuff before, I was both unfamiliar with the mechanics of the game and the layout of the map. Long story short, I got smoked repeatedly. On the bright side, it wasn't just me but the entire team I was playing with.

I do agree though on the shields, they seem very unbalanced compared to what I am used to in Destiny. They come down quick and take forever to recharge. The shooting mechanics seem a little off too for some reason. Can't quite put my finger on it though.

So now that E3 2015 has gone down, what are people's thoughts on HALO 5? I was pretty excited at first, but after watching the gameplay I'm not so sure. Certainly a 12 v 12 PvP seems pretty cool, but what about the actual story line. What's with the robots? Maybe someone with more HALO knowledge can fill me in.

Halo 4 was the start of a new trilogy and story arch. Since "Bungie" left to do their own thing, there was no prior development from them as far as the story goes after 3. Basically at this point all you really have to do is play Halo 4 to be caught up with the current story arch. Spartan Ops is a side story included in Halo 4 but I'd recommend you play through them all (Spartan Ops) as it goes further into detail of things going on in the background surrounding Master Chief.

Yeah, I guess I need to play my MCC more. I haven't read any of the books either. So I guess my knowledge is lacking. I'll hold off on judging until the game is out.

Yeah you need to read the books, Fall of Reach and Ghosts of Onyx for sure. Then you will know why having blue team FINALLY back in action if f-ing epic. Spartan 4s/5s have no chance.

After Halo 2. I had no hope. No Halo games exist after Master Chief was not the main person.

I flipped Halo for World of Warcraft, then that for Assassin's Creed. Now i'm into GTAV but getting bored. I think my gaming age is slowly dying.

At my heart, I'm a sci-fi guy. Haven't really played console games since the Sega days, but in the past year kind of got back into it with Destiny. Picked up Halo: MCC to try and get caught up on the background of Halo/Bungie. Sadly, I agree with you. Seems like Halo certainly has gone a different direction after Bungie pretty much moved on. I was really hoping Destiny was going to fill the void, but once again it seems the new Bungie is not the same company it used to be.

Funny, I just picked up the original ME now that MS is working on making 360 games backwards compatible for XB1. It's interesting, more story in the first 30 minutes of gameplay than what exists in all of Destiny right now. With that being said, the shooting mechanics are horrible. It's extremely hard to come from Destiny and then try to play ME. I am told that ME 2 and 3 changed that.
