You guys think there will be any companies that will engineer aftermarket parts for this platform?

More likely compared to IS-F, especially as the GS-F is just about to be revealed.

I mean for a start, ISF drivetrain parts should fit since the engine is mostly the same, and the rest of the parts are probably shared with another Lexus car as well.

That is a good read, thanks for the link. Lexus has certainly stepped things up, even if the M4 won in the end.

The manual auto debate for sports cars is moot at this point. The highest end sports cars are paddle shifter, almost all autos now have paddle shift control.

So people need to get out of the olden days ideas that manual equals better sports car. It doesn't.

It might be slightly easier to be able to down shift two gears at once going into corners, but even that is a negligible difference.

Even lack of launch control can be mitigated by an upgraded torgue converter and or a valve job.

im more confused at the DSG vs automatic debate...as far as I know you in both cases you press the gas down, you go. One doesn't 'feel' any different than the other IMO. Either do it by hand, or do it automatically which both a DSG and automatic do. Sure they do it differently but I don't know why DSG > automatic to some people....
Ive driven my Sis GTI around before (its a DSG auto) and I honestly don't get why it supposedly 'feel's sportier than an automatic.....

Torque Converter. There is a fluid coupling between the engine and transmission with a conventional automatic. DSGs have a mechanical connection all the time All modern torque converters lock and create a physical connection, but there will always be circumstances where they are unlocked, and throttle response will be mushy.

Many new conventional automatics have found ways to mitigate this or almost completely remove it. Case in point, the ZF 8 speed auto that everyone's been putting in everything, the 8 speed auto in the IS-F, the 6 speed auto in the FR-S, and the 6 speed auto in the new GS and IS are all programmed to lock at very low speeds, giving you a mechanical connection 95% of the time. However, you have to shop carefully to find an automatic that is going to be good.

Well, I had to jump on the bandwagon and buy an RC-F as well. White with a black CF hood:
