This is for all of those 86 owners that want a lot more power (and probably terrible handling.) Also a lot bigger price tag, "starting at $62,400." Also a 4,000 pound curb weight. Sheesh.
That's an odd assumption for somebody who has never driven the car

Hiding under a rock, I guess. I just saw an ad for it today in the Jan 2015 issue of Road & Track. Lexus is just not a brand that I ever have considered. I'm happy with my little FR-S. It's fun and I don't have to spend a fortune on insurance or gasoline (as I would with the Lexus version). Still, this is why car manufacturers make more than one car -- so that everyone can have their favorite.

A big V8 in the front of a small car seems like a recipe for poor handling to me. However, with the curb weight at 4k, perhaps that makes up for it; maybe a big counterweight in the back? As you say, I haven't driven it. I haven't even seen one on the Texas roads. Too many people with pickup trucks, I suppose.

Love it or hate it styling. Decent HP but 4000LBs. Automatic only. A sports car it is not. Just another expensive GT luxo-cruiser. This is what the auto manufacturers think enthusiast want? Only thing ts is good for is the highway and stop light Gran Prix. If that is what great driving is about for you, then go for it.

No hate here, just wonderment. Actually, the more I think about it, the more the RC F reminds me of a Ford Mustang Cobra. 5.0 liter engine, a lot of power, quick 1/4 mile times, price over 60K. If that is your cup of tea, go for it. My original comments were about the striking resemblance to the 86's.

Which part of the track? Was it the "Big Willow," "Horse Thief Mile," or "The Streets of Willow"? If the first then there are long straightaways and wide curves. I would expect a car with more than twice as much power to run faster. It is more impressive if those times were run on the more windy loops. Do you know which one was used? Not trying to be a smart ass, just curious.

The rcf has no resemblance to an 86...

So? That does not make it a sports car.

If I was going to buy a huge car like this I would rather have a Cadillac ATS-V, CTS-V or Camaro ZL1. Better looking in my opinion and the option to get a manual tranny if you want it.

I get that you like it. Obviously, because you bought one. I am just glad that they still make lightweight, fun cars for guys like me. I have owned the GT luxo-cars in the past and find them rather (very) boring now. But to each there own. They may sell more RCF and RC350s than they will FR-S. It is an image thing and a fashion statement. Something I could not possibly car less about.

Why stoke a guy for his time? I wasn't the one who kept suggesting I take a test drive, I wasn't the one who kept pushing to run numbers because it was "the car" I couldn't live without. Oh and I wasn't the one pushing to appraise my ride because they will give me a hell of a deal for it, his words. Yeah you hate little punks but you are the salesman still pushing to sell a car and even hold on to their car keys so they couldn't leave the dealership until you finish your sales pitch?

Apparently he was trying to do the stroking because he was just standing around with no one else walking the lot (BIG COMMISSION THERE!!! from all the people we know swarm Lexus Dealer Lots) and I was the only one looking at their cars. I love how we put down other fellow FRS owners on here, assuming this and assuming that with name calling too. So you assume I am a little punk with no money? Okay so I guess your assumptions are people who walk away from dealer lots are just stupid little punks with no money because they walked away from your totally awesome deal, even though they didn't ask to drive your car, You Did.

I guess all of us are supposed to buy a car when they bring you any offer to the table? He was the one who wanted to show me how affordable my dream car is and his best offer was what I said, and I even walked right away after looking at his "best offer" without wasting his standing around time (or your words COMMISSION) I guess I'm going to assume you were the holy salesman everyone hates who keeps pushing and pushing the shopper to buy the car, "what can they do to get you take home the car today"

Apparently I'm the asshole who wanted to check out the brand freaking new car out on the market and if it was awesome, might consider buying, but God forbid didn't buy it after checking out said car.

I love the name calling on here, I guess you are also the little punk you refer to. I didn't call anyone names, not the car, not the dealer, not even the salesman who kept trying to push me the car. I just laughed to myself at their best offer they told me was a great deal for this one of a kind car. I thanked him for his time and waited forever for him to return to me my own keys because he was so adamant about appraising my car for the best deal, so I can leave and I am the asshole? I just wanted to check out the car in person instead of online or a magazine unlike you I guess.

Sorry I checked out the FRS in person too instead of online and in a magazine, like you apparently, before I bought it ON TOP OF another car I was purchasing at the same Toyota dealer. And guess what, I test drove it too before I bought it! asshole here to test drove a car before buying it like how many assholes here on the forum test driving their FRS/BRZ before buying it.

Got to admit that I didn't test drive the BRZ though, instead I looked it up online and realized I liked the FRS front more, but had to have push button start from the get go, climate control switches instead of turn dials, smart key keyless entry, and that silver paint. I guess 1.8% apr is no 0%, but he worked for his Commission.

So you people here on the forum, you are assholes if you want to go look at something new and don't buy it but let the sales person talk to you. Only go when you are absolutely going to buy that car. And you are an asshole if you God forbid talk to the salesman when he comes and talk to you. Remember people, a car salesman is the messiah ON COMMISSION, don't waste their standing around time unless you are absolutely sure you are buying that car. I made that mistake and the messiah couldn't save me from making a horrible mistake by passing up on his Godly offer.
