If you have ECUtek etc then there's something to be had by lowering the running temperature
Unless you can change the temp that the ECU switches over to closed loop mode, nothing is going to come of it.

I honestly don't know if it can be done through ECUtek to be honest.

My understanding is that engines are designed to function at a certain temperature. Metal expands as it heats, so running the engine colder means you're running with larger clearances in the rings than is optimal.

The thermostat just controls the MINIMUM temperature at which the engine operates and has no effect on a fully warmed engine under load.

If the engine is constantly running too hot changing the thermostat will have no effect.

It will give a greater "cushion" if the cooling system is stressed for a short period of time then unstressed, such as a car that is temporarily stuck in traffic then goes again.

Installed the Mishimoto thermostat from FT86speedfactory today. It runs a little cooler, tip in knock from multiple data logging did not occur as it typically does on the third pull. First time for everything. It's hot out tonight
