It depends on 1. dealer 2.the relationship between that dealer & corp. rep in the region.

Put everything stock back in * refreash stock tune first before going would be ur best bet...if u don't wanna research on 1&2.

but that's paying alot of money to flash back to stock then to tune for header maybe it's something i need to talk about with the dealer but i may have to choose my words wisely...

No convincing was needed. Just took it in, told them the problem, took them a little bit to reproduce the issue. After confirming the issue they told me they were going to drop the tranny check the clutch for abuse and replace the tranny if everything was peachy.

Since I don't dump my clutch or launch my car, all was good.

I also have a question:

If I purchased my BRZ used (4months old 4k miles), and still have warranty, does that mean my oil change/tire rotation at a local subaru dealership is free?

I did not purchase this vehicle at the local subaru dealership, btw.

I've never had to take a car to a dealership for maintence stuff, so excuse me for the noob question :P

Not necessarily true, although the latter is more true than not.

OP it depends greatly on the service department/manager's perspectives and limits in terms of modifications and service work. YMMV, greatly

If you got a tranny replaced with a tune, then either the dealer didnt know about the tune, or they are one of the rare "Mod friendly" dealers.
I could come up half a dozen excuses to not replace the trans based on "ECU code modifications" without looking up from my game of Angry Birds....

Depends how good your service dept is.
My dealer basically told me they wouldn't work on my wheel hub bearing because I had an aftermarket exhaust.

Totally unrelated parts, but they wouldn't do it.
After I reverted to stock, they still messed up the fix (replaced the wrong wheel bearing) so I ended up just doing it myself with a second-hand hub assy.

Look at it this way:

If you want to mod the car and then are worried about warranty coverage, things like paying money to put it back to stock for warranty coverage should be already accounted for.

If it's too expensive, keep the car stock.
