P3 gauge question about clear code
Hey,
I'm looking for a gauge and I read this one can clear diag code. Anybody used this option to reset the cel which are coming when running catless like P0420 ? I want to change my header/fp for some HFC without tune for the moment. Will this work if a cel light pop up ? Thanks

Yes it will work, until it pops again 20 minutes later and you have to reset it again.

to stop code you could use an O2 sensor spacer , however they are not always 100% effective. for not much more than a P3 guage you coiuld buy an open flash tablet www.openflashtablet.com and get a flash device with included proper tune for your stock car with catless headers for petrol or e85. and you can use it for logging and as a guage display. the header tune disables p0420, the oft will also read and clear cel codes. http://www.openflashtablet.com/Autom...OFT/index.html . |

I have the guage and love it! Functional and looks great! I picked one up around the same time I put on the FT86speedfactory catted header. Didn't want to tune, but wanted an easy option to clear the P0420 code in the event it came up. Sure enough, it did. The guage is useful for clearing the code on the go. You can clear it while still driving if you want. After clearing, the soonest I would have the code come up again was maybe a day or two later and usually only while freeway driving at a constant speed. As far as a catless header, I don't know how long the code will remain cleared before showing up again. I've since gotten an OFT and have cleared it that way. |
