The understeer with the stagger is evident, but totally predictable. Since I am going SC soon, I went ahead with the wide setup. Enjoy your new tires! |

I stay with Michelin for the performance but also for their warranty. There are several occasions on which my barely-used tire was destroyed by a nail or pothole, and I got a new one for just the cost of mounting and balancing. Not sure if Conti offers that?

Given the timing of my purchase (just bought an FRS), where I live (Maryland) and the stock tires (Summer HP), I really can't ignore the potential issues of driving Summer tires in the Winter. So far, I've driven my FRS in wet, freezing conditions and while I drove with care, the HP's didn't have me swerving all over the road - thankfully.
I have a second car to drive when it snows, so I don't have to push the HP's onto really bad winter roads. Still, I can easily find myself facing unexpected Winter weather, so I am shopping for prices on the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3's in case I need to pull the trigger quickly. I'd like to get through this Winter leaning on my other car when I have to, so that I can get some use out of the HP's before I replace them maybe a year from now. But, if I have to purchase the MPS A/S 3's soon, would my HP's be of interest to anyone? Can you actually sell these tires with 1-2k miles on them? Would they sell somewhere on this forum or on Craigslist? If so, what's the typical selling price? |

I see people selling the stock rubber occasionally and it seems to run $200+. If you decide to replace them soon hit me up, the ones that came on my car are nearly worn and will need to be replaced this spring when I take the winter wheels off.

Hey Gravitylover,
I've got about 700 miles on them now, and it's great to hear that my HP's would be marketable. It's possible that I would pull the trigger soon, and there's a chance I'd hold on to the tires to try to get some use out of them. Thanks for the offer and I'll stay in touch. -bk |

The continentals so far have a better turn in and the car feels more planted on turns and on the highway. No rubbing or anything on stock suspension too.

Yeah I was really impressed with the tread. And nope I bought xxr 527's because I'm a cheap ass plus they work. Size is 18x8.75 +35 with 235/40/18's. I didn't notice any rubbing at full lock and keep in mind the 40 sidewall will throw off the speedometer a bit.

Got an appointment for tomorrow to swap out my stock tires for All Seasons. I expect to put the HP's up for sale with about 1k miles on them. Still interested? If so, PM me. |

Got Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3's. Quite impressive. I need more time on them before I can offer a detailed review.
My Primacy HP's will be up for sale shortly on the Classified section. Perfect condition with 1k miles on them. I liked the HP's - definitely fun to drive and very fuel efficient. They just are not the practical choice for Maryland Winters. |
