Dude! I'm jealous! I'm also in Portland and I believe that I was the first to place a deposit on an FR-S outside of the First 86. I was told that there was only one Portland resident that made it to the list, and you must be it.

I was at the event. From the time he arrived at about 7 until he drove off around 9:30 he did not have a moment to himself. It was non stop interviews, photos and film crews. I was amazed how many photo journalists and official film crews that were there. Scion corporate was there in a big way and if they had taken the time to introduce everyone who was special there we would not have driven off until midnight. I have no inside information but this was not like the "event" staged last week in CA at the dealership there. This was staged by Scion Corporate at a Scion owned warehouse/entertainment facility. While the dealership was well represented they had never seen the car before that night. Scion had controlled the car since its arrival at the port. The Scion corporate representatives where amazing and the local dealership were great sports considering they had no control over the car and little control over the event. There were lots of other Scions and specialty cars there across a very wide price range. I am not sure of everything he received but it was far more than he expected and there were several specialty vendors there who offered their products if and when he wants to follow up with them. During the presentation he was given back pack that was full of really cool stuff like that reported before and much more. So much that they told the crowd that Kyle would just have to discover the rest when he had time to go through the bag... Most importantly the car in Black was stunning. The pictures do not tell the story. The interior is much nicer than I expected. Kyle is 6'4" and I'm 6'2" and we were both very comfortable in the seats. The car sounded great, road great and I was impressed how little road noise there was a freeway speed. I am sure Kyle will be posting more once his work schedule allows. The Scion First 86 program was a once in a lifetime opportunity for the lucky 86. Having not been one of the 86 I was at least lucky enough to know one of the winners.
