Just a little question. What kind of bolts and nuts were you using? I found there are only clips in this list.

That was must likely my post. The Subaru parts guy and other posts said to not reuse them considering that it's easy to damage the clips

Are you running yours through winter? I was going to pick them up, but figure it's just asking for underbody rot.

Thanks for this write-up, I'm going to use it tonight to install mine. Got them for $200 shipped from a group buy shipped, and got the clips/bolts at Subaru, who definitely has them available to order with the series.blue now using them. I saw the parts on their computer as I was ordering the clips and bolts.

Can't wait to see how it looks with the Driveway Labs type 2 on.

The Driveway Labs Type 2 really put the finishing touches on my daughters car, the underbody panels are worth the price

There are a couple spots I noticed that take bolts, not clips as indicated. I do have a 2015 and I noticed some changes since the 2013, so that may be a factor. I was short the nuts so I didn't install the gas tank panels yet, but the noise level drop on the freeway alone is worth it (WA freeways are just noisy as hell because of how rough they are a year after they're paved).

I did the install by rolling the rear on ramps and jacking up the front with stands, which was really not enough with the stock jack. Should have used my outback's jack.

Does anyone know what size the nuts are? I was looking for a flanged M8x1 machine nut just eyeballing it, but couldn't find them at Lowes, and don't feel like driving to the dealership.

Since you could remove the panels, it might be beneficial to install for a winter and remove after to see if anything made it on the inside.

Anyone else?
Looking at the design of the panels, I think they might trap a lot of moisture/salt/sand next to the metal. Perhaps I would think differently if I was able to check them out in person. From what I can see from the pictures, I think if I installed them, I would remove them for the winter.

thats a possibility, but they are a pretty tight fit, so youd have to submerge or drive though deep snow i would imagine.

That's pretty much correct. You'd have to be fording to get them soaked. If it really bothers you, drill a couple holes in the rear. Snow wouldn't get in there at all. I was driving through torrential rain all day long for well over 100 miles today in WA, and they're hollow when I knock them. They'd also keep FAR more salt off your undercarriage than stock panels would. It's easy enough to just pop the clips on the outside and shoot a hose in there if you're worried about accumulation, but the bottom of the car is really thoroughly rust-proofed with the foam they sprayed on it.

Keep in mind they straddle the exhaust, which keeps them nice and toasty as well. If you're paranoid about it, you can always use weather stripping or silicone but that would honestly be overkill.

Again, just the noise reduction makes it completely worth it.

So I am getting quotes to purchase a BRZ and I want these body panels on it. One dealer has told me that all 2015's have these one them stock from the factory. However, I had thought it was only the Series.Blues that had these from the factory. Can someone chime in and clarify this?
